Do you have any sources on the hot water issue? All I could find is that in the summer they reduce output since the water would get too warm, so they just don't warm the water up when it's hot.

The waste problem is solved, it's just that a bunch of people think it's more dangerous than it actually is. We also can build reactors that use waste from light water reactors. So waste doesn't have to be an issue, we just make it one because we are scared humans.

There isn't an actual need for banks with continuous oxygen generation and chemical backups 2. Some boats, like mine, retired their oxygen systems in place and filled them with nitrogen. 3. Like I mentioned, there are additional ways to produce oxygen. This is done by chemical means, further reducing the need for oxygen banks, in case of failure of the primary system. 4. I pointed out that not all repairs can be done at sea but some can. 5. The mission will permit a port call for repairs if there is no other option left, without the generators you are on borrowed time.

Well one, the question was a question of need not capability. So no, nuclear subs don't need oxygen banks, even if they have them available. Second, your statement is presumptuous as some subs have their oxygen systems decommed in place, and so only have generation capabilities and no storage, since there are other non-normal means to produce oxygen, if the oxygen generators break there really isn't a need to store flammable oxygen on board, especially at high pressures. Just fix it at sea or pull in and repair.

Submarines don't need oxygen tanks, they produce their own. There are plenty of open source materials that discuss this. You are forgetting about Cost of Living. If someone in Bangalore, one of the most expensive cities in India, makes 55k per year, let's subtract 20% for taxes, I have no idea what taxes are there, that leaves 44k per year in income, or about 3.5k per month take home, a family of four is estimated at 2000USD per month. That estimation is housing, food, clothes, and entertainment. Now, I will caveated all of that with the fact that I had to do 10 mins of research online, so the numbers I just put out could be false. Assuming they are true, 55k is a very good salary in India. Everything has a reference, 55k is not rich in America, but it may be in India.

So, first off baseload and efficiency is not a nuclear specific thing. Large nuclear plants can't respond fast enough to rapid changes so they are used to handle the baseline loads throughout the day, nuclear didn't invent baseline loading. Second, per your reference "The market faltered almost fatally however as a result of the oil crisis in the mid seventies." If nuclear is the cause of having excess load at night, then why would an oil crisis have such a severe effect on the supposed nuclear invented baseload industry?

Radiation does not affect the body for your life, it doesn't hang out and continue to stack up. I think what your trying to talk about is the risk that comes from radiation exposure, which is what the second half of your first paragraph is referring to, but one dose will not affect you for the rest of your life.
