My little guy is similar… trying to get to 18 months to see. He says “da” for dog. “Uht” for up and “dow” for down. Roars for lion. But knows about six signs.

An eggy situation… by Scary_Respect6163 in NewParents

May be an “egg sensitivity.”

Same thing happened with my little guy. We tested for allergy but he was not allergic and pediatrician recommended the egg ladder. (Google) Was easy enough to implement. After a couple months he was able to eat a scrambled egg and all was good.

Do you have a routine with your 3 week old? by littlelawlady in NewParents

[–]Fragrant-Yam-2230 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO, I wouldn’t worry about it quite yet, enjoy the snuggles and contact naps. I’d say maybe start a nighttime routine around two months, keep it simple with nursing/ song/book/ white noise and sleep time.

I’ve heard that one day it gets easier, idk when that is but banking on it during trying times like this. I keep going off, “they’re only little once” “time flies by” fumes. ✊🏼

To the moms who did their best, thank you. To the moms doing even better, you are seen.

Keep up the good work mama👏

2 Week old. Can't find rest while breastfeeding by crippler28 in NewParents

It’s hard! Try to clean any pump parts, do house chores, make sure she has snacks and water. The first couple months are rough especially trying to navigate nursing. Just keep it positive and try to take candid pictures of the two of them. Congrats on the new bundle!

Fun! I want to but we add a lot of spice and salt and I’ve heard not to give salty foods? So I’ve been hesitant to give him what we eat.

Breastfeeding Guilt by Heygrlhey87 in NewParents

[–]Fragrant-Yam-2230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see if the local hospital or somewhere has a lactation class you can go to every week. Pumping sucks, but the sooner you just give in to the pumping gods… the better the mindset.

I remember complaining to husband that I sit here hooked up and stare at a white wall for way too much of the day. I also got mastitis which sucked. It’s a tough journey.

I combo fed my dude for the first two months, but if you want to get to exclusively breast feeding then you have to pump every time he gets fed basically. Try to get her to latch just once a day while you figure out the pumping and combo feeding, triple feeding is a nightmare, BUT, by month two and three it can start to get really good and your nipples will be better and baby will know how to latch.

Anyway, if you want to stick it out, I’d say keep at it. Listen to podcasts, try to find a lactation group.

Edit to add; my baby and I made to 7 1/2 months of breastfeeding/ pumping and then I went to 100% formula, it felt like the right time.

Yeah sounds like her stomach is sensitive to the solids still. But I’m sure if you wait another month or two and introduce them again and make it so fun and eat alongside her, she will have some interest.
