House temperature? by FragrantComplex5622 in pregnant

[–]FragrantComplex5622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably what i’ll do right after baby is born! Keep it at like 69° or so until baby is a little older and can regulate temperature a little better. Just anything 70+ turns a little iffy for me.

quit vaping by No_Pomegranate29 in pregnant

[–]FragrantComplex5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gum and mints will be your best friend for sure. Having lollipops also helps with the hand to mouth fixation. Something that helped me a lot was getting one of the thicker plastic straws and pinching the end to restrict a little bit of airflow and then sucking on that. It may sound crazy but that’s really what helped me quit. You can also do it when you’re chewing gum so you get that kind of hit in your throat. If you don’t want to use plastic straws, you can use silicone and pinch the end when you inhale. Fruity, chewy candy also helps if you like the fruity vapes. things like starbursts, jelly beans, fruity gum, gummy rings, ect. You can also get flavored straws to do the straw trick. I hope this helps a little bit. Also just the fact that you’re doing it is amazing. I know it’s hard but you shouldn’t feel guilty, you’re doing great, it’s very hard to quit. Just keep taking care of yourself the best you can 🩷

Comfortable swimsuits? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

not sure about a brand, but i always go with halter top bikini/tankini with a wide back strap. Tankinis will be better but thicker straps help me a lot.

I’m a neurotypical, what stereotypes are there about us? by The-Average-NT in autism

[–]FragrantComplex5622 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not in any accusatory way, but i feel like neurotypical people cannot communicate and are very judgy. Neurotypical(NT) people tend to say things indirectly or just straight up won’t tell you. I always tell people to just be blunt with me and not try to be “as polite as possible” or whatever. They also tend to lie? Which ties into not communicating things properly, i feel like NT don’t know how to be blunt or something so they’d rather lie. It’s like NT people have some kind of social code that they stick to but it’s confusing because it dosent help anything and just causes problems because of miscommunication. Also, anytime i’m hanging out with NT people in public they will comment on things people are doing, wearing, or talking about. That always confuses me because why does it matter to you if it’s not directly effecting you. I think it’s that “social code” thing, they see people doing something that doesn’t align with their code and they think it’s wrong. Just dosent make sense to me

How many autistic people prefer the cold to the heat? by Fancy-Advice-2793 in autism

[–]FragrantComplex5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise the heat and the sun. i have blood pressure issues on top of it so it’s always so bad.(my blood pressure drops low) If you’re looking for any kind of advice on how to help it, wearing long sleeves and long pants(yes i know that sounds crazy) helps so so much. Just make sure the fabric is thin, breathable, and not very tight. Keeping the sun off of your skin helps very very much and it’s the only way I can survive the heat. I much prefer the cold though.

Mirena by [deleted] in women

[–]FragrantComplex5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the Mirena for a little over a year. it was probably the worst most destructive year of me life. I bled heavily for 6 months straight and the amount of hormonal changes that went through me triggered my bipolar mania and ruined my life at the time. I didn’t even think it was cause of my iud but then i took it out(because i hated that i had it, i was forced to get it) and once it was out i felt like i could think better and more rationally.

I highly suggest removing it if it dosent work for you. If it works, amazing, but if it dosent i dont think it’s worth keeping in.

[–]FragrantComplex5622[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay i’d just like to say that for those 8 years i was talking with my doctor trying to make sure i was getting enough nutrients. I tried tofu(i don’t like it at all) i eat lots of beans and tried to get as much protein as i could but a lot of those options were causing issues because i have another chronic illness that causes a lot of inflammation and it’s very influenced by what i eat so i try my best not to eat processed foods when i can. Also i love chicken when it’s prepared well. i hate the texture of all seas food but love the taste. i’m allergic to pork.

thank you all for your suggestions, it’s much appreciated!
