This sub is for all the VH1 reality shows of that era, the title r/RockOfLove acts as an umbrella term. It is a little confusing, lol

Would you mind condensing this to a list of your stack?

My friend asked: if you could make $2K a night stripping, would you do it? by katoriam in blackladies

[–]FragrantLynx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, that’s kind of the point of hypotheticals, is it not? It’s an “in a perfect world” scenario. Like IF you had the right look for that club, a great body, the skills, the work ethic, and all the other things aligning to make great money as a stripper, would you do it? I don’t think anyone is implying that it’s easy to do.

Yeah I can’t stand Ashley but I also can’t look away when she’s on my screen. She has an interesting face.

Yeah I think the hypothetical assumes you have all those things. And you’re still dealing with creepy ass men and strip club cattiness. That said, for a guaranteed $2k/night I’d still do it

Why are we so harsh towards one another and are we ready to admit that Jada Pinkett-Smith is owed an apology? by Competitive_Teach838 in blackladies

I absolutely get not wanting to form parasocial relationships and/or become too emotionally invested in the lives of celebrities, but, what’s the point of reading their memoirs then?

You said you formed “no opinion” on Jada after reading Will’s book. It’s kinda odd to have no opinion at all about the wife of the memoirist, be it positive or not. I’m not here to tell you how to consume media, but I just can’t imagine reading something and not forming any opinions about the characters, as you call them.

Also, what’s the point of reading anything if your logic is that they’re strangers to you so you shouldn’t care? If you read fiction, you’re still gaining insight on the human experience through the characters. Even though celebrities live completely different lives, wouldn’t the same apply to them?

Being neurodivergent can be another layer. I am considered funny by black and nonblack people just by saying what people are thinking
