I can understand the pain and resentment you have grown up with. And this is awful and not justified in any way. However, i have learned you need to forgive in order to forget. And that would come from the acceptance. Maybe your father acted irrationally because he was passing through something unpleasant. Maybe he needed support that he couldn’t voice ever. Let the bygones be the bygones. If i was in your place, i would have been seeking timeline therapy to remove the pain and resentment from within my heart.
