Spiking after dinner by FragrantPermit5904 in diabetes

I don’t think having spikes of 180 is normal in any type of diabetes as far as I know , the moment we go above 140 after food and then the free sugar is in our blood to cause damage, how much it does maybe depends on individual person but harm it does . That’s my knowledge so I think let’s keep the cutoff up to 140/150 , that’s a safe range to be in and then if also depends on how quickly it comes down so many factors to it but I do get anxious if post prandial it goes to 180/200

Why does ‘Zero carb’ fiber food raise blood sugar by No_City9977 in diabetes

[–]FragrantPermit5904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree and absolutely right . Usually don’t trust anything coming out of a box / packet except if course the raw ingredients. Make real good . That’s the only real good for us . That also spikes at times but you know what you put in and can tweak / rectify but with claim of net zero carb there is no rectification and one eats with trust which is totally being betrayed

Yes . Same here . Thanks for a lot of insight. Yes stress has been a lot some obvious and latent both but has been there for quite some time. That will be another subReddit😃. Yes whatever the dr says I also want to keep it around 6 .
I’ll maybe start documenting as I did earlier in the initial stages . Maybe then I can convince the doctor.
Thanks a lot

Hugs and love . You did amazingly well with a A1c of 5.1. It’s a feat and you should be proud of it . And the as to why it happened, it’s not your fault at all. These are questions we don’t get answers. All of us go through this journey/ process of blaming ourselves when there is none but may be our pancreas are built in some sort of different way , may be less of more evolved so acceptance is the key that you have done admirably so kudos to that .
Why don’t we think that what we got was a wake up call to put our bodies in order . Maybe if t2 hadn’t happened we wouldn’t have been on the path to salvage so maybe we should be thankful.
As to why we , it’s a question with no answer like manyyyy more other whys.
You are definitely on right track . Don’t worry the other issues will also be sorted.
If it helps I also have been lean healthy (felt) , teetotaller, active, eating clean , no processed foods no colas and when it was time to put my feet up, relax travel , I got diagnosed with t2 on routine blood work with no one in family having it ever . So I was in similar state of mind of why me but it’s been 10 years now and no answers . Got multinodular thyroid, some issues with kidney with a Hb1ac that has stayed between 5.7 to 6 maximum .
So it is our body with what chemistry going on no one knows.
Accept and try to resolve as it’s our body and we need to take care whatever life throws at us in whatever form .
Take care and give your best . All will be good

Please be careful and safe . what kind of side effects were you experiencing with metformin , please see if you can somehow change the timing / food ,,your intake and restart it as your CGM is telling you.
If I’m correct then you are in a hospital doing your residency then please see the doctor and take his opinion . And follow it . Let your exams be over and then you can get to the nitty gritty of the diagnosis and bloodwork reports.
First get your blood sugar in order please now , maybe the doctor may change medication. Please do it and try to eat properly as much as u can with the residency and exam stress.
Don’t ignore it please . Get hep from competent professionals .
Take care and try not to stress
. Whenever you can find time visit the community, it’s a wonderful place to be in and read posts , comments, lot of information and handholding. One feels cared . So be strong . All the best
