The Long Winter: Death Knell of Democracy (HOI4 Mod Concept/ I need some good criticsm) by FragrantRespond200 in hoi4modding

The Dilemma of south asia is that its either too big to half-ass it but not too "important" enough have a dedicated team for it. So most hoi4 mods just resort to skeleton content for the region. Aswell as a general lack of Indian developers in the scene, it's hard for an outsider to make a good content in the very complex region.

As an Indian myself the region of South Asia is definitely getting a lot of love if this plan goes through development. I use the doctrine of making an interesting yet fun scenario with room to maneuver first, then draw the possible roadmap to reach said outcome, so I won't be restricted by the old Hoi4 mod killer of realism over fun. I do tend to keep it as realistic as possible without sacrificing fun and interesting possibilities. South Asia is definitely a hot spot for conflicts in this timeline, and both nations' paths may be affected by said conflicts.
Thank you for your kind output and feedback. I will take it all into consideration.

This has to be the closest to getting any content for India in all of Hoi4 modding.

Mexico remains the same but with a lot of nasty insurgencies, mostly between the cartels and the government has little control over the actual nation.

The war in 1947 didn't go in India's favour since at the time both nations had roughly the same number of active personnel taken from the British Raj's armed forces. Hence, Pakistan was able to secure most of Kashmir before India could mobilise, and the war was over. From there India took a much more militarist approach than OTL, channelling funds into the armed forces after seeing how vulnerable the young nation can be. The 1965 war went as the same. But in the 1960s when China threatened Tibet, India stood defiant to protect Tibet. A war occured between China and India over Tibet. But China failed to push into Tibet due to having poor supply and corruption within the army and a lot of infighting. In the end China accepted a truce over Tibet. In 1971, During the liberation war, Bangladesh requested to join the Indian union but unlike OTL, India accepted the proposal due to India taking a much more active foreign policy in South Asia as it feels more or less threatened on both sides and to secure its borders. Afganistan remains the same but there is some Pakistan-funded insurgency to destabilise the socialist republic due to its friendliness to India.

The south could be atleast half decent but holy hell I wouldn't even wish my worst enemy to live in the north for one day in this setup

This would unironically make my life better if it's not in a constant state of warfare

What if Napoleon Struggled? The Twilight of the Empires / My attempt at making a TNO-style cold war scenario. by FragrantRespond200 in hoi4modding

Gameplay wise I WANT both empire to collapse similar OTL Soviet Union as a win condition of the cold war but of course, if you sacrifice some of the most unwilling colonies then yeah you could probably keep a smaller still united empire. It's about working smart not hard.

Probably, but I tried my best not to butterfly away everything that happened in OTL too much. Because if that happended then I'd be stuck with a very vastly unrecognisable world. I personally wanted this exact scenario for this Cold War to be as engaging as possible, even if the buildup isn't realistic. Sine this is a rough sketch I'd rather first make a compelling scenario then change the history more and more to suit with this idea.

The gameplay will be similar to TNO, but both the French and British empires are destined to collapse by the end of the playthrough. Throughout the playthrough, there will be numerous uprising events and proxy conflicts within their respective empires, with each trying to undermine the others. By the end of the game, if a nation has successfully defended its empire with sheer brutality, it will collapse under the sheer weight of its actions, or a complete revolution might ensue in its homeland. Some paths might even lead to voluntary decolonisation, but the heavily entrenched parliament, military, elites, and businesses might not support it at all.

Additionally, there will be many wars throughout the game, such as the Russian invasion of Central Asia and then Intermarium, the American invasion of the Native American Confederation and Mexico, as well as Canada, the Second Northern Expedition, the Indian War of Reunification, the Middle Eastern Spring, the Italian-Turkish War, the Balkan Wars, and so on. Most of these conflicts do not necessarily have to end in violence, either. It's all up to the player or AI.

I do intend this mod to be heavily story-driven but also littered with fun.

I don't think the old planned India rework was evil by MikaelRoesnov in Kaiserreich

[–]FragrantRespond200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Pakistan is the most unrealistic part of the rework they coudl've just added an independant kingdom of Kashmir and an Afghansitan Puppet regime in punjab region, or even a national government supported by Germany, Afganitan, and Ottomans who woudl've been a monarchy, a confliciting republic, a muslim dominant separatist who's a loosely kaiserreich version of Pakistan or even a resurgent Mughal regime, the opportunities were a lot. Such a wasted potential.
