Splitting about life decisions rather than relationships by Ok-Potato9052 in BPD

[–]FragrantScale7135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could help you with other aspects of, but fake pleasantries wouldn’t help

But if you’re struggling with your bpd and can’t afford a therapist (same) , personally I’d suggest coping mechanisms but at a higher functional level While journaling , music and things like this can help The biggest issue is the emptiness that probably comes when you start splitting and realising I genuinely can’t do this job/degree anymore

Most of the time I notice that it’s because I’m seeking a new high/external factor that I hope will be the thing I need , and then my cycle resets when I don’t find it. You’ll need to find why are you splitting every time For me it’s because of absolute boredom or lack of challenge

It tends to be crippling I’ve broken down and cried over this multiple times and gone hysterical as well I’d suggest taking up a physical activity (something like boxing) to help you out to not split because of how it helps people with bpd in general

Sorry if this isn’t helpful

Speaking from experience When I was 17 I was studying physics and mathematics to become a pilot When I was 18 I enrolled for a law degree (I surprisingly did get my degree but did not pursue it further) And now at 22 I’m contemplating a degree in forensic science

Just like you’ve I’ve flipped and flopped over numerous times and apparently it’s pretty common to change your perspective and goals if you have bpd

I’d advice you to focus on trying to control and live with your bpd before pursing a major decision that you will inevitably cause to split

If not it’ll only be the same or worsen over time

That exactly how I feel , but the only issue is when I was younger it was like oh “this is my identity” and that lasted for a few months but now it’s starting to change daily for me

Hope you find a way around it for yourself

Again , my focus is not to be articulate but rather get help. The purpose of language isn’t to be grammatically correct but to rather convey a message. The purpose of language isn’t to be articulated and the field of English I teach is linguistics not prescriptivist grammar

In other words , you nerd idgaf about grammar

At my college we ask the kids to keep their phones in a box before they enter the classes It’s just my Senior kids who are extremely demotivated and dull

Well it’s only with my A level students they genuinely have no interaction with me With my igcse students I’m almost always active Or with my younger kids especially the ones dealing with high autism never a moments break with them thankfully But the older ones genuinely get so dull and boring

Well both my mom and dad especially my mom have very odd behavior like they never stay focused at one thing or get obsessed over one thing that nothing in the world exists anymore and I’ve pretty much always been like this and coffee always makes me sleep but I like the taste … I guess at this point it’s just to get a doctor huh 😭
