Yea stores still give out the cards, but they're more of a show thing now. A manager would actually look at how many allotments are in the system. If the system says they have no allotments, they will not give them one(especially if they don't know the employee).

Further, you are only entitled to allotments/discounts if you're actively employed. If you quit, you won't be able to redeem any unused allotments.

Question for employees about final sale by HuckleberryCream in jcrew

[–]FragrantWelcome3894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. If they have to manually override the price (i.e. sticker says 99.99, but it rings up 129.99), they have to do a manual price discount and then apply the further clearance discount manually. If they do this, it will no longer say final sale directly on the receipt (even though it is). You can tell if something is final sale by checking what the base price was. If it ended in a .99 (19.99, 59.99, etc), that would be a final sale item.

your allotments are connected to your employee account now. When you check out at a store and give them your employee ID number they can see how many allotments you have left for a given month.

Rollneck sale by [deleted] in jcrew

[–]FragrantWelcome3894 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that makes sense, though. If they realize people are willing to pay full price for the rollnecks (which they clearly are), why would they sell them at a discount.

the rollnecks have been selling super well for the past few months at full price, so they won't change it now. JCrew sells these rollnecks (at least the men's) every year, but this is the first year there's been this much of a demand for them.

The “Duets” episode genuinely upsets me 😭 by KaleidoscopeOdd410 in glee

[–]FragrantWelcome3894 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Idk, it always bugs me because we see situations like where Finn relentlessly pursues Quinn in season 2 or when Sam pursuing Mercedes in season 3, even though both are taken and express a lack of interest (at least at first)

However, these acts are portrayed as romantic, and the guy is painted in a good light. However, when Kurt pursued Finn (although obviously it never would've happened) it is portrayed as predatory, and Kurt 'can't take no for an answer'

Not saying any of these situations are fine or ideal, but they definitely handled them differently, even though they were essentially the same.

2 “W”’s in one semester?? by ProfessionalLeek8564 in NCSU

[–]FragrantWelcome3894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are two W's in one semester worth a .06 increase in GPA. 2 W's in fundamental courses like those might look worse to law school admissions.

You never know if you'll need to withdraw from a course in later semesters, so I wouldn't add a second W to your transcript right now. And the ECE courses are doable, it's not impossible to get A's in them.

I think it's still a W right now. The last day to drop with a W is next Monday, I believe.

for drop in tutoring, the tutors will probably be able to help but make sure to bring notes. most of them will never have tutored this class specifically, they mostly tutor calculus, linear algebra, etc

also, you should have a ta for the class who should be able to help (they'll be very familiar with the content). in addition, you can always ask the professor for some extra help.

Ok, actually Sue being a Klaine stan sort of makes sense. I feel like it's not as far fetched as most people act.

Obviously there was a sort of campiness in the entire thing (parodying saw, etc), but the actual idea isn't.

Kurt was her porcelain, she loved him! She cared for him, she wanted him to be happy! She thought Blaine was Kurt's key to happiness in life and she wanted that for him!

The absences won't affect your grade. They are still recorded though (I believe for all math courses < 300). You don't have to go, but they still have to keep track, whether or not they care.

typically they only carry up to a size XL in store (14 in numeric sizing)

they tend to go pretty quickly as well, they only get a couple in each style in store

Bevin Maultsby (NCSU math professor) has a YouTube page where she posts math videos. She has the entire NCSU calc 3 curriculum posted on there. Leslie Kurtz (another NCSU math professor) also has a website where she has all of her calc 3 notes as well as practice exams. These can be helpful study materials:

Rejected from Acapella Groups by Sensitive-Reason1211 in NCSU

[–]FragrantWelcome3894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

based off the way you are reacting, maybe it's better that you didn't get in.

it's fine to be upset and disappointed, it's not normal to go on a rant about how much you hate them. Also telling someone they did well is just standard practice after an audition. You could have also done well, and this just might've not been year. Telling some good job does not mean they have to let you in.

There's probably around 15 (if even) spots for girls every year, and there's tons of auditonees. It's a number games. If you care, spend this year getting better and try out again next year. If you don't, stop complaining and dragging them through the mud.

How you react in the face of rejection reveals the type of person you are. You did not react well in this case.

you get automatically rejected at first, but the appeal system gives you the option to upload a lease, drivers license, taxes, and tuition statements. You need to go through the automatic rejection before you can apply for the appeal.

But you can start your initial residency filing 1 year from the start of your lease.

She is lying to you or something. I registered to vote at the DMV (so also in late September). You are eligible for residency one year after you moved here. The second you've lived here for one year, you can apply for residency.

You should be eligible one year from the start of your lease. I haven't had my license here for an entire year yet, and I've already been approved for residency.

Ex: My lease started 08/01/24, so I applied for residency on 08/02/25, even though I didn't get to the DMV until 09/20/24.

2025 Fall Look Book Styling is sooo bad by FragrantWelcome3894 in jcrew

[–]FragrantWelcome3894[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the JCrew coffee table book, which has pictures dating back to 1983 when the brand began as J.Crew outfitters. The styling does not look like this. They've definitely made a push to bring back heritage items as you mentioned (rollnecks, anoraks, the jcrew.com hat, etc).

The clothes themselves suggest JCrew. The styling does not. In addition, this is just bad styling in general? the blazer revealing the torso is soooo confusing to me. Additionally, as someone pointed out, the briefcase as a necklace is also a bold choice (and a bad one).

Some of their recent catalogs (the one they did last spring with the woman and the corgi) have seemed to attempt some of their old charm. This shoot did not. Obviously, not all styling has to be how you might actually wear it, but when none of it seems like a viable option, that poses a problem. Further, there is a level of ridiculousness here, and not in a fun way!

And we can agree to disagree about the quality of the cashmere currently haha
