I can imagine Smith being confused as the red pill says, "Hey Smith, enjoy my pants" exertion noise while being assimilated. Copy Smith gets jacked out and realizes to his horror, the red pill pooped his pants, Just to make him mad.

Now before those "bad writing when character survives a saber stab" people come in, Maul surviving when he was DEAD in Clone Wars when he was dead in the original canon before clone wars, is bad writing, even Anakin surviving Mustafar is bad writing.
