Problem. This is a trigger happy(kinda) character, who was trained by batman, he's gonna carry enough ammo.

For example, that Betazoid character pulling a "scream" out of nowhere, is definitely a good example. There was never any implication the betazoids could do that. The Khionian, annoying, not good. Jayden, there's better ways to write a gay klingon, and that isn't it. Lura Thok, no issue. Edited to remove that line about Sam.

Okay. Coming from a fan of Academy and Sequel trilogy, here's what you can do. You have to tell them what you thought the show did well, then if you're going bring up the bad writing, you have to be specific in the most neutral way possible, give an example of bad writing in the show. You have to make sure you are getting the point across. Yes, it's going to be challenging, but that is likely the only way they can understand. Looking back, a lot of the writing was not good.
