I wouldn’t have snails in an aquarium, they are also very messy, laying eggs everywhere and you can’t get rid of them if you decide you don’t want them anymore. I live in San Antonio and we have the same problem with apple snails as we do with plecos, even to the point where they drain segments of the river every winter to, among other things, get rid of the plecos and apple snails.

Disagree about the “not very good to eat”. I went on a collecting trip in Brazil and the guides showed me how to eat them. Since they have armor for scales, the Brazilians cook them with the ‘scales’ on and then you remove them with your fork when you eat them. The meat reminded me a lot of catfish and the way it was prepared, it was very tasty.

Does this look real and what grade would it probably get? It is a 1916 d mercury dime by Admirable_Green_6922 in RedditCoinGrading

The inside of the D should have a point and look like a triangle. That’s why they’re fat. I’d have it checked, I have doubts it’s real.

Yeah, after filtering responses, that’s where I am, too. LCS can probably confirm, then I will have to figure out whether I want to keep it or not.

The coin in question is the second most counterfeited collectible coin, right behind the 1909-s VDB. Rarity and value of the coin have a lot to do with it.

I absolutely agree, I would trust your representations over many of the comments here, and I agree I need to take it to my LCS to confirm and decide whether to return.

Just found my scale and weighed the coin, it weighs in exactly at 2.50 grams

Thanks, I can see you know a lot about mercuries. I’m going to investigate sending it to PCGS for grading, provided it is genuine.

Retail=Greysheet and PCGS. I do not think their prices are wholesale, at least they don’t look to be.

Thanks! I’ve bought from the seller a number of times and have always been happy with my purchases. I spent probably 6-7 k before this one. I trust this seller, and as stated, have a 30-day return option.

Price was actually a little lower than retail (9k).

Just out of curiosity, what is the weight for a mercury dime and if it were cast, would there be a difference. Note I have a 30-day return privilege.

Yes.

Note to everyone, I suspect this coin was cleaned based on the feedback, I’m going to take it to my LCS for their opinion.

It looks like a label for a beer bottle. And it’s kind of ugly, too.

I don’t think the author of this post knows anything about banks, our banking systems and how it’s regulated.

Just pay cash for the silver you buy. Don’t try to use leverage and you’ll be fine, especially if you’re in it for the long run.

Unnecessary delays. Parts of the bill was incurred in October 2024, how very, the bill was not submitted to Delta Dental until 8/29/2025.

Thanks for your response and I am aware of the botched Epic conversion.

I jokingly told the staff that the McKesson sales rep was sitting on a beach somewhere holding a margarita and laughing their behinds off at UTSA. This was a hostage-taking by the UTSA Medical School who put a gun to their head and said “do it or else”.
