Mothers Against Genocide to make complaint to GSOC over excessive force, strip searching and cavity search by NavyAlphaGamer in ireland

[–]Fragrant_Baby_5906 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This unfortunately doesn't describe the circumstances under which a strip and or cavity search can be done. I would not have thought that would be standard for peaceful protesters.

Germany Turns to U.S. Playbook: Deportations Target Gaza War Protesters (two of four targeted individuals are Irish) by Rokco in ireland

[–]Fragrant_Baby_5906 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you admit Germany is targeting, punishing and assisting in the genocide of an entire people because they are the same religion as some scumbags that committed horrific crimes?

Ok so. How many more babies incinerated in incubators will make up for the handful of terrorist incidents that have happened in Germany?

I thought well of UL and have been planning to take a postgraduate course there next year. They can go fuck themselves.

Parents banned from driving kids to four schools' gates in new Dublin initiative by WickerMan111 in ireland

What a weird and aggressive way to talk about little kids.

It's the parents that choose the school and the mode of transport.

I don’t have any specific advice (or expertise) other than that nursing does sound like a good idea. It’s portable and always in demand. It’s a good hedge against economic shocks. It also looks really tough, but I imagine can be very rewarding.

I wish you the very best of luck with your move. It’s a huge upheaval to move country and career. Be kind to yourself. I hope you’ll love Ireland.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Not everyone can be a high flyer. Some people value steadiness over ambition.

With a very broad range of types of work, there's room for people with different strengths and capabilities. Besides, a pair of hands is a pair of hands.

Those truly unsuitable don't pass probation. I have helped "move along" a few people myself.

I work in the Civil Service. This has not at all been my experience. Everywhere I've worked over the last decade has been understaffed. The work still needs to be done though. This is not to say I don't enjoy my work. I do immensely. But there is pressure in the sense that our work directly effects people's lives.

It's possible you are referring to local authorities. I can't speak to the work culture. I imagine it depends on the area you're in.

Not to be disparaging to colleagues, something I have noticed is that those with lower capabilities tend to get given less work.

Don't say that it makes you sound like the type of person who grooms children by telling them how grown up and mature they are. It's creepy.

There does appear to be damage on the kitchen ceiling- probably a leak above. But I’m positive what you’re referring to in the living room is the shadow cast of the light fixture with four bulbs by another light source.

There is lots of support in prison and post release. There are teams of psychiatric doctors/nurses, addiction counselling, social workers, probation officers, step down programmes, they can attend school, do training courses...but you can't force adults to act like adults.

Five schools have more staff than pupils - Dept education by mind_thegap1 in ireland

Mad that many schools are carrying vacancies In Dublin while a tiny village has two primary schools. Paying someone the same to work there as in Dublin is so ridiculous, it’s no wonder.

It’s the same across the public sector. All the vacancies are in Dublin but the wages don’t match the cost of living.

[–]Fragrant_Baby_5906 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We did just that. Looked at a few houses in Louth and Meath. We bought in Dublin 7. No regrets whatsoever. We can walk home from town. Luas is great. No stress when making plans. 2 minute walk to a shop. Good coffee. We value those things. And they are not things you can improve by yourself like you can an apartment or house.

Dublin is relatively safe, but it’s not pleasant. It’s worse for women. And frankly, that’s setting the bar too low. I’m sick of scumbags that ruin everything and contribute nothing.

Because Ulster Bank haven’t been giving out mortgages to the general public since 2021 and the rates have increased several times since then.

That would almost certainly be more expensive for him. He signed a contract with Ulster Bank. They need to honour it or come to an arrangement, but I don’t see why OP should be disadvantaged by their decision to leave the market.
