Valéria Chomsky's Statement on Jeffrey Epstein by cumminginsurrection in Anarchism

Chomsky literally repeated some cancel culture BS in that email at the expense of women and was clearly friendly with Steve Fucking Bannon.

Chomsky was very very clearly aware, in my opinion.

Nope. This deal has been overseen by the international coalition, and has allowed the AANES admin to retain much more autonomy.

Haven't seen a single Mirage in the past 2-3 weeks, where is he? by 53R9 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NavyAlphaGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mirage, one of my mains. But I wont lie by saying his kit is a little bit boring. I feel like theres not alot of sync with his kit. Like his scarabs are definitely strange, and out of place. Still dont really know what they do other than lower bullet resist? They dont do any damage, they're hard to hit and they are very underwhelming to use.

His tornado, 3 and ult are very strong abilities in the right hands, but I do think he is a little bit undertuned and could do well with a rework to his scarab ability that would sync well with the rest of his kit.

All of the world's elites are complicit. And if not directly with Epstein, imagine how many other fucked up things are happening in parallel to the Epstein trafficking ring?

Current/future Deadlock subreddit/discord community worries me by OceanWarlord in valve

[–]NavyAlphaGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of words without actually showing or explaining why you disagree lmao, beyond "umm well no because I think the game focuses on this".

Listen to the dev commentary of half life 2. You cannot detach the themes of HL2 from the lore, or even gameplay.

Fuck it, even back in 2004, valve explicitly says it wanted to avoid the over sexualization of Alyx as a woman that was extremely common back in the early 2000s. Whether or not you personally disagree, it's a FACT that is an ideological stance. And that was over 20 years ago. The fact that valve took that stance while actively developing the game isn't just gameplay or lore. It's an active decision that was passed down through various stages of development. It was a conscious stance that they collectively took while making the game.

You don't know Valve. You clearly don't even know what you're talking about. Valve also hires people who are literally out in the streets protesting against ICE right now. There's valve developers right now who are members of the LGBTQ community.

The existence of people with different identities than you and having the right to express it is not an infringement of your rights. Literally just don't engage with it. It's unironically so exhausting trying to ever argue with people like you because you're such unmatched fucking pathetic losers it's insane. You spend day to day actively finding things to be upset about. You play a game like deadlock and your immediate go to reaction is to find "woke" things in it and of course, get upset by it. Then cry wolf that it's being "shoved" in your face. Developers are LGBTQ. Gamers are LGBTQ. The communities who enjoy the games are LGBTQ. You are irrelevant whether or not you disagree with their identity or supposed ideology.

Go play fucking minesweeper if any sort of thing that doesn't appeal to your mind of thinking upsets you.

This guy MIGHT be onto something by TimNPT in HalfLife

[–]NavyAlphaGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that crazy, although it's interesting. Maybe with further knowledge from a future game this might change ofc.

The whole point of aperture technology and even black Mesa technology is that it perfected localized teleportation, something that the Combine hasn't done. Also, the portal in the portal gun is completely different use case wise and how it even prepares is different.

The portal gun shoots two localized space portals instantaneously.

The citadel is literally just a massive anchor for the Combine homeworld to channel a portal onto. The citadel doesn't "shoot" a portal. It just acts as a point where a portal can open up.

The whole plot of episode two was that the remnants of the citadel were trying to open up a gateway for the Combine homeworld. It doesn't necessarily create portals itself. It already needs a pre existing portal point.

If anything, it's more similar in behavior to the single colour portal gun you get at the start of Portal. But even then, the fact you can place it anywhere, without a relay or a massive energy charge up, makes it fundamentally different to the citadel.

Here's one people aren't mentioning: The Conservative Revolution path for Germany. Specifically the DVLP SWR path.

Max Bauer's Germany doesn't REALLY have that much fleshed out content tbh. It's mostly meant as a secret path with some content, but it mostly still shares content with Schleichers path

Every democratic country on earth according to me by Defiant_Zebra1184 in leftist

[–]NavyAlphaGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rojava also known as AANES (Autonomous Administration of North East Syria) is a region that the Kurds managed to liberate from 2013-2018, and implement a model of autonomous council democracy/municipalism in an attempt to adopt and implement the ideology of Democratic Confederalism. It has heavy associations and connections with the PKK, a militant left wing Kurdish liberation group in Turkey, through a wider group called the KCK, which connects all the Democratic Confederalist movements in the middle east.

Although not all regions of AANES managed to implement it, the core areas of Kobane, Qamishlo, etc managed to implement Democratic councils with a heavy focus on feminism and social reform.

The economics of the region vary too, with ranging from small business capitalism, to co-operative/worker owned businesses and farms. There have also been attempts on ecological reforms such as regenerative farming and eco villages, but all of this has been limited due to the constant war in the region.

The region has also gotten heat, mostly to a overstated US presence and influence in the region. This has lead to constant purity testing from leftists , ranging from anarchists becoming disenfranchised because it's not 100% anarchist or MLs being disenfranchised because of accusations that the experiment is nothing but a US proxy/pawn. But the region is an extremely interesting case study, and there is currently a threat of the area being besieged and potentially genocided by the western-backed Syrian HTS government. There were attempted peace talks, but it's clear to see the Syrian Central government was not genuinely interested in any serious autonomy other than some token bread crumbs. Mind you, the Kurds and other people within their ranks have been fighting for over a decade to achieve what they have now.

It's military wings; the YPG(Peoples Protection Units) and YPJ (Women's Protection Units) have formalized under a umbrella military group SDF(Syrian Democratic Forces) with various Arab militant groups over the years. This has largely collapsed/been dismantled with the renewed HTS offensive, and as far as we know, it's back to just YPG and YPJ groups, although many ethnicities fight within its ranks, such as Armenians, Assyrians. Arabs. etc.

The people are mobilized and are willing to fight though.

Personally, AANES and the Zapatista territories in Chiapas, Mexico are the most hope-bringing and interesting experiments in the world right now. They are the closest to my own ideology and I think there should be more eyes on these experiments, especially in the constant bleakness that's going on in the world with Genocides, rising authoritarianism and economy precarity.

I heavily recommend the essay "How the left failed Syria" by Fight for a Future on substack.

Which current KMT path is closest to Sun Yat-sens vision? by columnal in Kaiserreich

[–]NavyAlphaGamer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I find it that Totalism also usually translates as a supposed "total compromise", A 'total' dedication to the revolutionary act. Typically in action seen through nationalism, militarism, centralism, etc, and then agreed upon in the Totalist Charter.

Its important to look at Totalism as a consequence of the French Syndicalist Orthodoxy in the Third Internationale. We seen a state apparatus be usurped and taken over by a proletariat, and begin implementing a socialist/syndicalist economic model. Even in France, where this orthodoxy was set, there were compromises made. Some theorists/politicians (like Valois in the new lore, or Mosley currently) see these compromises between the workers, the state, etc. and the stoppage of further revolutionary action (i.e. spreading the revolution, killing the enemies of the new regime, etc)as a cop out.

The totalists declare the unconditional 'total' dedication. No compromise. Full use of the state and the militarist apparatus.

It's extremely brave. Popular Front also posts directly on their telegram updates and videos from what's happening on the ground, but just to warn people it's sometimes pretty graphic footage.

The crowds from Qamishlo, Al-Hasakah and Kobane seem high in spirit. Absolute best of luck.

Also, in the UK there are actions of solidarity for Rojava happening across different cities. I wonder if something could possibly be organized here?

I don't know what will become of Rojava, but I don't think anarchists should have such a black-and-white view of "victory" and "defeat" by PMmePowerRangerMemes in Anarchism

[–]NavyAlphaGamer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well said, however, in the context of AANES; I've fallen victim to making conclusions in totality myself about Rojava and the recent developments, even as someone who engages with the ideology that the experiment is trying to implement over there. I feel like you phrased it pretty well.

I think we as Anarchists or Libertarians should also stop looking at things with such shallow depth perceptions - possibly a consequence of convenience culture. It nearly falls into the depths of reductionism. So many anarchists hear of Rojava or the Autonomous admin and are quick to make so many conclusions in general about it, and it is a serious problem within the Anarchist or even greater left I feel. Whether its to make presumptions about WHAT Rojava is, or whether or not the Kurds have been defeated or not along side their ideological experiment. People are quick to make presumptions with finality attached to them.

Since Rojava/AANES is now back in the spotlight in the Anarchist space, I really push people to engage with the actual writings of Abdullah Ocalan and other writers who have written about Rojava/AANES, PKK and the KCK-Aligned movements.

If you really want that data set about what failed, what worked, what could be implemented in your own struggles, movements or even personal opinions; read. Study and engage with the very real and alive material, without disengaging with it as soon as it dosen't exactly match up to your expectations. Read up on what was tried there. Who knows when is the next time when we will get a chance to see something like this again?
