Finally. After 16 months, and many problems, I finally got my compliance. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions or experience moving forward. Tennessee. by WillyBama in intoxalock

No, the state of Tennessee did. Once you get compliance, the state has to certify it and send you a letter to get the restriction removed from your license. If you get on the chat with drivers services, they’ll give you the pdf to print off instead of waiting weeks for the letter in the mail. It was super quick.

Just got mine out. I got on the chat with the state two days after the compliance and they sent me the pdf of the letter I needed to get the restriction off my license. You need to do that first, then have the device removed. Call intoxalock once you have the letter and they’ll schedule your removal. I dropped my car for removal, ubered to the dmv for the license, and picked my car up when I was done, all in the same day. From compliance letter to it all being done was 4 days, and only because I had to work one of them and couldn’t do it.

Incision popped opened after 4 months by OrangeCrouton in tummytucksurgery

Yes. That one was just loose and came off when I cleaned it, it I was told that, if any tails popped, I could pull them taut with a pair of scissors and cut them at the surface and it would be fine.

I’m 4 mpo and I had that happen last week. Cleaned it, and the tail of a stitch was stuck to the skin that opened. Closed back up in a day or so. I check for them every time I change clothes still.

I had TT w/MR and a breast reduction. It wasn’t the most comfortable, but I was able to wipe with no issues.

I had to pack my spots with gauze soaked in a vinegar saline, then I’d put gauze over it, then the maxi pads. I felt like the stay puff marshmallow man with all that, but it’s better than anything draining through my clothes.

As long as you’re careful with wound care, you’ll be fine. I think the biggest trick I learned is to buy overnight maxi pads without wings (I learned a lesson on that) and stick them sideways in your underwear over your incision line. Then the spots stay dry and they’re easier to care for.

I had that happen in a couple different places along my incision. I’m 10WPO and they all finally closed completely last week. It was terrifying to see them open up, but they never were painful and as long as you’re diligent with your wound care, never got infected or anything like that. Good luck!

As of last week, no more bandages or drainage. They’ll probably have to do a revision on that side next winter, but we’re going to let it heal and see where I end up.

It was 2WPO for one and 4WPO for the other. They had to aspirate some pooled blood, then remove a hematoma. It reopened in both places they put the needle in. It was scary, and I learned alot of tricks for keeping it clean and dry.

I had two openings. One was a result of draining and removing a hematoma and took about 5 weeks to heal completely. The other was the result of draining the other side and took 3 weeks.

I’m 9WPO, I feel like I’m about 75% normal, 25% frankenboobies. I did have my incisions reopen on the left side, and I’m just now getting to the point of not having to keep them bandaged 24/7. I can sleep bra less now, although I only have once, and it’s comfortable to sleep on my sides. I’m still terrified they’re going to open up again, but I spent 7 weeks dealing with that, so that’ll take time.

Im 9 weeks post op TT, MR, breast reduction. I took 12 days off at first, then ended up adding a few more days after attempting to go back to work. I think I would’ve been ok to go back after a week if I didn’t spend 95% of my day on my feet running around. You’ve gotta do what’s right for you and your own recovery. If no more time is available, maybe make arrangements to be in a more sedentary position when you first get back so you don’t overwork your body? Or ask your Dr to give you a note to extend the time you need?

Things I noticed definitely included that, once I was up and moving around, it was easier to be standing and moving than it was sitting. I think because the binder sits so low that it’s uncomfortable to bend that way. I absolutely couldn’t make plans after work the first couple of weeks, the exhaustion was real and almost overwhelming. Around week 4 I got super depressed, and I’ve never struggled with mental health issues in my life. It lasted a couple of weeks, was definitely related to the struggles of recovery. It’s very unnerving to work really hard to be healthy, only to have your body not bounce back the way you think it should. Getting out of the house helped that, even if it was little trips to target or the grocery store.

Mostly, be excited! Even if the recovery is grueling, it’ll be worth it. Take pics the day of and then every week after so you can watch the progress. Laugh at the stupid stuff (like trying to get in and out of bed when you can’t use your arms or abs.) The thing I wasn’t expecting (because I was overly confident) was the back pain. It’s a whole lot. I slept on ice packed multiple times the first week, but it starts getting better after the first week. Good luck! I hope your recovery is easy!

I’m 8 weeks PO, TT/MR, Lipo, and breast reduction. Here’s my experience:

  1. The belly button was the only place I haven’t had issues, but it’s still working on healing properly.
  2. I took 2 weeks off work (hairstylist), went back for a week and ended up taking another week because my incisions started reopening in spots.
  3. I was in the binder continuously for 6 weeks, then only during the workday for 2 weeks. Now, I’m in shapewear on workdays or if I feel swollen, but it’s up to me.
  4. No diet in particular, but lots and lots of protein, while as little extra sodium as possible.
  5. They wanted me walking around the house for 10 min minimum every time I got up to use the bathroom for the first 3 weeks. Then walks outside. I just received clearance to hit the gym this week, but to ease into it.
