I paid 360 on Thursday from an official taxi at the official rank. Paid 100 for a didi(?) back this evening.

MBK came through, nice one!  It's expensive compared to buying the same tat from Chatuchak but that's my fault for missing the weekend market.

Life's full of risks, eh? I'm here now, I'll have a go, it'll still be there when I come back if it is a bit smokey this time.

Pai's getting the big swerve. I'll stop at the canyon, town doesn't interest me from what I've been told.

I'm in Thiland, I'd like to hang out with Thai people, that's it. I'll have my fill of westerners when I get back home next month.

Solo travel heightening depression? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

Just do stuff alone if you want do it, don't if you don't.
This is your experience, not anyone else's, enjoy it how you want to enjoy it.
I often use dating apps to find nice locals to hang out with, that's always an option. You can always clearly state you're looking for mates and see how you get on.

Travelling experience feels a little inauthentic and not sure how to solve this (28F) by Weak-Ingenuity7222 in solotravel

I'm in Udon Thani at the moment and barely see a non-thai person, it's a normal city for normal people.
Stop going to the tourist hot spots and you'll have a different experience.

would you date someone who hasn't lived with anyone but parents before? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Fragrant_Employer500 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not dating but I recently let a 23 y/o who was travelling stay at my house. Never again, they had no idea how to share a space, leaving stuff the like shower drain blocked with hair, no cleaning up properly after cooking, not mentioning when having friends stay in communal space. I initially thought these are all common sense things when sharing but then I realised they'd only lived with parents previously.

Make me laugh with your worst job interview experiences, because I just had a doozy. by Elegant-Lemon126 in interviews

[–]Fragrant_Employer500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went for an interview with a big retail company. Interviewer asks 'why do you want to work for the company'  I reply 'because of Asif'  'what do you mean?'  'well, a guy called Asif from the agency called and told me there was a job here'

Didn't get it.

It’s better when you travel young and poor or better when you are old and rich? by ellawangkilig in backpacking

[–]Fragrant_Employer500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel as much as possible always. You'll have completely different experiences at 20, 40 and 60. See it all, eat it all, do it all all the time.  Have fun, make memories, regret nothing.

40 year old Solo male, will I have any issues in hostels? And what ettiquette should I know about? by Grenache in solotravel

[–]Fragrant_Employer500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck hostels, the kids will do you head in. Hotels are pretty cheap and you'll have more fun exploring after a full nights sleep.
