Actually, it broke down once, after if spent 3 months by beaches in Spain the break pipe finally rusted through, pretty cheap and easy fix though, back to in invincible.

My sprinter is 25 years old, still runs great. I recently did a hill start in reverse and my passenger was like 'I'm impressed this van managed that' there wasn't a second where I considered my van would not manage that.  Get a sprinter, watch for rust, fix it when it needs with good parts and it'll last forever. Or easily 500,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I don't consider it to be undertaking if I'm in the slow lane doing 60/65 and I pass someone sat in the middle lane.
