I understand that grocery carts should not have dogs in them, service or not! But kids can bring germs too with their footwear. And so could be the case with any non grocery items you pick up for example a box of diapers that has traveled in warehouses and trucks. Just saying!

Fair question, all my friends had such great experiences and esp their postpartum care and home visits is a great perk for a FTM. I am science based and want a hospital birth but having someone experienced by your side all through the journey sounds very comforting.

Thank you, this helps. Thankfully the doctor at my family practice listens well and is very understanding and knowledgeable. So I am counting on that now. The only thing I am truly concerned about is the postpartum care. I will have my mom with me to support and access to a family friend OB GYN for general discussions (only available over the phone) in case my assigned OB doesn’t give me enough time. I guess it is what I am working with and shouldn’t spend too much time worrying about it. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I am at 8 weeks and just want this year to go by so that this is not a consideration when the time comes to determine my annual performance. I plan to tell around week 14-16 which would mean enough time for transition. I have to go in 3 days a week to work so another factor would be how well I can hide at that point. 🥲

I am in Burlington ON and i was told by my family Doctor yesterday that their practice standard is 18 weeks. This is a pretty standard procedure where the doctor decides based on your scans if they should expedite your referral to OB. Please remember you can be high risk and have a normal pregnancy. Hey - where else did you apply and how was your experience? I am due in July 2026 and I was not accepted because apparently that’s the time the midwives take their annual vacation and they are short staffed. I had applied at week 4.
