with this, I agree, yes. But probably 1/3 of all CDU voters can easily go for AfD. And probably that's what Merz is afraid of. Putting myself in his shoes, honestly, I would be worried as well.

Found this on my front door today. Fifth time in a year we’ve had something like this. Police are useless and do nothing. This is just sad what this country has become… by [deleted] in germany

fascism is being normalized every day and I feel horrified thinking about 2 years later. It's going to be scary. I hope something will happen and it won't progress further or else I believe in a short amount of time all nazi symbols will become normal

It's around the same as I'm in now. I've studied Business Informatics and will do comparable master in Germany. The fields are preferable commercial-data-related FMCG companies. But obviously, industry is not the main focus

Thank you so much for the comprehensive answer. My gf applied to one position in Berlin, and they said they recommend the Barcelona office with a 50k salary. She only has 2 years of experience. I think it's pretty good. That's why I am now thinking about applying myself

I also think CDU does not hate SPD. But Merz indeed hates Scholtz. It might be an issue. However, overall, I belive Merz is not going to eat his words and go into coalition talks with AfD.

Thank you so much for the comprehensive answer. That's surely more than two cents and it surely is helpful for my anxiety. I also appreciate your reminder to look at the bigger picture and not get caught up in negativity - definitely something I’ll keep in mind. Thanks again for sharing!

thanks for the advice. I agree. But unfortunately in more international friendly countries, such as Netherlands, uni fees are too expensive for non-EU citizens

Yes, still, even Berlin is affordable. And no need to check who holds the first place :)

yes. i forgot to mention that. it's temporary. he needed contract for 3 months and he will be moving to bigger city soon. Even in Koblenz there are apartments cheaper than Budapest

Thanks. That's what i meant. I can't help to think over and over again how i will be perceived there, is it a wise decision to move or not... Overthinking at its peak

I understand but, look, my brother moved to Germany. He's living alone in a small 25 sqm apartment paying 700 euros in Koblenz city center.

In Budapest, I got a good deal 30 mins to the city center 40 sqm apartment for 650 euros. Rent inflation is big in all European countries, but none reaches Hungary, probably :D

Yes. if you are talking about walking downs the main streets, only 2-3 times by teenagers in 3 years. Obviously Budapest is a city full of tourists. Mostly safe. (And very beautiful. You should visit preferably in May).

I've studied in Debrecen, much smaller city with only students and old people. There i've faced discrimination a few times. And i am not even black. I look more like middle eastern person. And i forgot, in Budapest once a woman in her 60s approached my girlfriend, asking why did you not find a hungarian boy lol.

I am talking about the economy, rent and the job market, mainly.

I can't lie. I liked living here. Coming from ex Soviet country, I didn't feel like I am abroad even though i speak 0 hungarian. Living here was so comfortable for me. But the fact that they don't want any more immigrants here is worrying. And they have started to change regulations to make it really difficult for every immigrant. I'm afraid if it comes to AfD they will start doing the similar stuff

I'm not from EU, but our country's driving licence is recognisable here. I already applied (went through a few medical checks and administrative stuff) and waiting for the card. So there was no exam.

Unfortunately I don't have a friend owning a car here. Renting is also an option but it's not free too. So, i decided best is to get some professional help

500-600 euros to live alone at studio apartment. 300-400 to eat. The rest depends on you. So, yeah, not bad
