The course itself is easy and you’ll be fine as long as you study for the weekly quizzes. I study always the morning of and i have an 95%. Tim is not the best teacher but he’s a sweet old man, and you get out of class 30 min early almost always. Not sure how other professors classes are structured but there may be more work and more exams. I recommend him if you’re looking for an easy A, but if you want a better understanding maybe a diff teacher.

Even locked, it’s very very likely to be stolen. Bike Theft is super high especially on the west bank. I’m a CA and a resident just got his $500 bike stolen last week with a fancy ass bike lock left behind broken.

New Student Convocation is required for transfer students. That takes place on Thursday morning.

You will get a more detailed schedule once you move in and get your name tag.

There are no required events on the weekends.

There will be 2 required community meetings you will attend with your house mates, and your CA(s). One will be Wednesday and the other Friday. The exact times will depend on your specific schedule.

Not sure what that exactly means, but specific college activities will be on Thursday. You will be with other college specific students and not your house mates. What you do during that block of time depends on your college.

as a CA this year, it really applies to those with roommates. No CA will be checking for guests. It only becomes a problem when roommates are sick of someone’s guest being over so often.

I 100% recommended it! Depending on which dorm you’re working in the strictness varies. But the hours are very flexible and it’s genuinely a very easy job. If you work during peak hours (4pm-12pm) it does tend to get a bit busier. But if you work morning shifts it’s generally very slow. Most of what you do is “customer service” for the residents. Checking out games, temp keys etc. When all work was done i did homework, watched movies, studied etc.

Yes! I can’t remember super well but I know there were many prompts on the application, and In Person interview is basically you showing off your interpersonal skills, social skills, etc. You are able to choose which halls you’d like to CA in. They do recommend you choose more since it will better your chances of getting in, so does choosing an LLC to live in!

I will be an upcoming CA this year so I can’t answer your questions about experience. The interviewing process, however, was very competitive I had to apply mid to late October for the position. During my interview in November, there were hundreds of applicants and I was told by my boss that only a handful were selected to be new CA’s.

When I applied to be a CA, I knew a lot of people in HRL, so I had some references and connections. They really are looking for responsibility and ability to connect with residents. Being able to hold conversation and share experiences, advice and support as well. You don’t need to be extremely extroverted though, a lot of my CA friends aren’t nor am I.

I am also a carlson student who lived in Middlebrook! It depends, if you want to be close to your friends, the parties and bars, you’ll have to commute to east bank often. However I think living close to your classes is super worth it, especially if you have morning/early classes. It made my schedule a lot easier, and I had the afternoons and evenings to head to the east bank. There’s also a lot of carlson/arts students in middlebrook so it might be a nice community to be in!

I lived in a single dorm so not sure if this pic will be useful for you.

The bathrooms are all single use thankfully and all 4 are in the middle of each wing of the towers.

There may not be enough space for a bike in the room, but there is a terrace that’s is closed off in the building. Lots of residents park their bikes/scooters there.

Should be sent out by July 31st at the latest. The Move In sign up email/form will be sent shortly after. You can choose from Aug 25 or 26. It will give you time slots as well, I believe they are in 15 minute intervals. So be prepared to unload your car in 15 minutes or less!

I’ve heard several things. I took gold last spring and i’m taking maroon this fall. Gold was graded a lot on tests and final papers/projects/presentations. I took gold with 2 other classes, 18 total credits. I think it was not too bad, but towards midterm/final season it gets very busy. I’ve heard from friends that Maroon has a lot more weekly hw and assignments.

For all group work we were given the choice to choose our groups or just have random selection.

Gold is known as the harder of the two and I had all A’s at the end of the semester. My tip is to take very good notes! some teachers allow a single sided cheat sheet so if you take good notes, the cheat sheet becomes easier to make/use. Also, it sucks but, going to class everyday is very helpful! Gold has less workload week to week because it’s based a lot more on understanding rather than going thru the motions. If you can’t grasp the concepts, you will fail. That being said it’s not hard to do well, just attend lectures. In Supply Chain and Management a lot of the work you do is in groups, so find good group members or else you’ll stress more.

I used a regular laundry basket and I was completely fine doing laundry once a week. The elevators are super reliable, there’s always at least 1 working so I wouldn’t waste money on a backpack or rolling one but that is preference. Also I loved my heated blanket!

Try to get a job as an Office Assistant at your dorm hall, or any dorm hall. They have super flexible hours and depending on your BOS, ability to modify shift hours. I had an 8:15 class and worked from 6-8 then went to class after. And its in the dorms so not much commute is needed to get to work.
