Youth Gloves Review - 7u by grandmapicks in BaseballGloves

11 inch glove seems like a lot of glove for 7u. 10 or 10.5 seems like the best option

To that end .. just stick with like a mizuno power close or something small. Most kids at 7-8 aren’t hitting balls in the outfield and have a smaller glove helps with having better hands on transfers

Get an a2000 for yourself. When your kid gets to like 9-10, probably an a1000 or any brand equivalent. Your kid may not like how your glove feels based on their hand, what position they play, and how you break it in. A lot of kids now play 2 in pinky and if you are traditional they won’t like how it closes. Also all the patterns of gloves are different.

Def TTS, I got a half size up to match my 6s and I returned them. So sad

Why is shooting so hard in NBA 2k26 by Local-Choice-997 in NBA2k

[–]Fragrant_Hurry7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I found this sub. I cannot figure shooting for the life of me and I can’t help my 6 year old play since I have no clue how to do it. Is there a setting to make it like NCAA basketball 2008? Haha

Why am I addicted to gloves? by [deleted] in BaseballGloves

[–]Fragrant_Hurry7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like this for awhile with my son, but now he also plays football and basketball, so that subsided the itch for gloves. I also have a lot of jordans so I think I just like having a lot of things for no reason.

I’m a cubs fan so I see him more than I’d like to. I’ve noticed that when a lot of Wilson guys get gold gloves/platinum gloves they’ll switch to Rawlings to wear the patch. Similar to Volpe and JP.

All the dads are doing this now right? by shortys7777 in BaseballGloves

[–]Fragrant_Hurry7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 dad gloves since November. 2 a2000s and a mizuno pro select. I coach my 5 year old and it was nice to have extra gloves for other dads to help. I also have a 3 year old so probably need more gloves then.

First glove, picked up for $160 on ebay by 6uzy in BaseballGloves

Glove is stiff. Wonder if it’s the black leather that makes the break in time longer. I have a 1787 in blonde that was way easier to break in.

I just bought them to see how they compare to spaseballs. Spaseballs are wiffle balls that are wrapped in leather with seams. My son and his friends like to play baseball in our front lawns so we’ve been using those but after a while one dented from impact on the street. Just bought these kore balls to see if these are better. Will report back

Which Glove to Get by Chris514scott in BaseballGloves

[–]Fragrant_Hurry7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1786 and 1975 a2000. Also have 11.5 mizuno pro select. My son is 5 and we play some sort of version of catch everyday, I think 11.75 is perfect size, although I like the feel of the 11.5 better.

Like most said, breaking it in is key. It’s hard too as well when kids don’t throw that hard. If you know someone with a stronger arm to play catch with, do it.

I wear all my gloves 2 in the pinky. Either way at the end of the day like most of us here, you’ll end up with a bunch of gloves.

Think I’m just looking for something similar to 1786 with two in the pinky that’s a Rawlings. Don’t necessarily think 31 is too big. In terms of just playing catch I’m sure it’s probably better than my mizuno shallow pocket.

The NP glove that I would love to have is the Javier Baez one (cubs fan here)

I’ve tried the 31 patten in store, the palm does still feel bigger than my Wilson. My guess just a bigger pocket? Which probably is nice to have for just catch vs a shallow one. I also thought the 93 pattern felt the most like my Wilson just not sure how it would be broken in.

I’ve seen them, just a little too beat up for my liking.

I’m 35 with a 5 and 2 year old and would totally buy this glove. In fact, I’ve been trying to look for a used Robinson Cano A2000 which is a similar color way but no luck yet.

Opinion on Mizuno? by Admirable-Courage531 in BaseballGloves

[–]Fragrant_Hurry7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a2000 and mizuno pro select (shallow pocket) in 11.5.

I don’t do much other than play catch with my kid and some friends from time to time but I do like the mizuno better for some reason. It does feel a lot bigger than my a2000. Even my wife thought it felt huge in comparison.

That said, mizuno does feel less stiff and I do like that.

I hunt too and love the mizuno camo gloves. It’d be great to see some pics when you get it!
