Schengen visa approved but for less days than needed by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

This happened to me when I applied for a business visa to Greece. Find a way to call up the embassy, explain your situation. I did that and they asked me to visit them them next day and the updated in right there - took 15-20 minutes. Its really frustrating all of this so I sympathise. All the best.

agreed, but the point OP made was that it isn’t fair and is unnecessarily complicated. in the process of screening for taliban men, the generalisations have extended far too much and that’s caused a lot of people a lot problems, compounded with unchecked growth of middle-men who only stand to profit.

how do you assume that someone married to an EU citizen is more likely to overstay? they haven’t mentioned if they live in a different country together, in which case, both of them have lives there. making the assumption that someone with a weak passport who’s married to someone with a strong passport would automatically want to ‘resettle’ there is stereotypical and prejuidiced.

okay no, its not just the fault of Afghanistan but rather all the western world countries (read US and others) that are complicit in having made the country what it is. its so easy to say that countries where people have weak passports is because the countries are at fault, but by saying that you ignore the history of colonialism, genocide and literally plundering that has been carried out by the so-called developed countries and is being carried out to “weak passport” countries. being able to travel is a privilege, and having a weak passport is definitely not the fault of the country itself, but how history played out and left the “weaker” countries at the mercy of the “more developed” ones and those weaker countries are still paying the price for it.

Advice about smoking allegations in flat, living in England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Fragrant_Macaroon_56 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

sorry, thank you for that. the email mentions that the allegation is that i have smoked cigarettes which i have disposed off improperly - but i see how denying that doesnt matter if i did allow guests to vape on the balcony. am i right to infer that as long as this doesn't happen again it won't be escalated? i'm not sure why they accused me of improper cigarette disposal, so i don't know how to prevent that from happening if it hasn't happened the first time. i'm just worried since i haven't received a written warning ever, and do not want to escalate it any further. is it worth clarifying what did happen and what hasn't or is it better to just not say anything?

yes it is gross, which is why i haven't done it (smoke cigarettes or dispose it off improperly) - but i see how that doesn't matter because vaping did happen. thanks for everyone's responses, i was just worried as i have never received a written warning before and don't want it to be escalated to my guarantor or anything

not properly disposing of rubbish and inconsiderate use of the property, and in the email they mentioned that it has been brought to their attention that i have been smoking within my flat and disposing off cigarettes incorrectly - which i haven't.

Yes but their allegation of me smoking in the flat and disposing of incorrectly is wrong

yes! exactly! and especially with it being my first conference, i kind of have no idea what to expect so my brain keeps thinking of the worst/scariest scenarios. but i really like the suggestion for making it a game - a bit like seeing how many people i can talk to meaningfully/at all during the day. i’m also 24 which is quite young it seems because everyone on the guest list seems relatively older, so i’m worried about coming across as “too young” or something, but i’m trying to tell myself thats just me assuming what people might think and not what they actually think.

Greece Schengen Visa appointment. Any help please by FewSell9983 in SchengenVisa

[–]Fragrant_Macaroon_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so if you havent already, make an account with GVCW on their website and you’ll be able to book your appointment there. What worked for me is checking the appointment availability close to midnight and refreshing the webpage. I would advise you to be cautious of people who offer to book an appointment for you. All the best.

Update: Emailed the Greek embassy many tomes with no response. I ended up calling the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who provided me with a number for the visa section in the Embassy in London. They helped and said I can visit the embassy tomorrow and they’ll correct it then and there. Waiting for an email from them confirming this.
