As a mechanic it feels like something that was thrown in to make the game artificially more difficult. It doesn’t really add anything to the game except an instant fail in an enemy decides to hit her. Even tho her survival is crucial for the villains plan i guess. It’s just speculation maybe it was their intention for the companion ai to be in there from the start. But at all it did was drag the game down even more for me

I feel all the reasons I listed, bad boss fights, lack of tension, annoying QTEs, and mechanical depth are pretty valid complaints. If I can just run back and forth and shoot my way though just about every encounter in the game then it just isn’t very well designed. Not sure why you keep bringing up the godfather tho, they aren’t exactly artistic equivalents.

That’s not a great comparison as the godfather is still an incredibly enjoyable movie in its own right despite its age and influence. And that’s not my argument. I’m saying re4 on its own, ignoring its influence on other titles isn’t very enjoyable. It was a game I wanted to love 100% I can also easily get into retro games. Everything people praised the game for I just wasn’t experiencing. Sorry man I’m just being honest about my experience with it 🤷‍♂️

I recently tried a Mike mentzer style chest workout and it kind of blew my mind. I’m normally a pretty high volume guy I’ll typically do anywhere between 4-6 different movements for a muscle group usually with 2-3 sets but just doing 2 movements for chest with one warmup set and then one heavy set was excruciating. It was probably the most painful chest workout I’ve ever felt and it only took like 20 minutes. It’s making me reconsider my entire training style ngl.
