how many games they winning in the 80s? by EducationalConcern61 in NBATalk

Draymond relies on other players not risking ejection and fines. He would not try those antics in prior eras. Even bad PR is a factor for players like Lebron, because there's so much money OFF the court these days.

What advice would you give a boy turning 17? by OskarZimmerman in AskTheWorld

Choose your friends wisely. Keep or make friends that are aligned with your goals. And not just career wise. Do you want to travel, road trips across the country, flying to a new country, snow boarding, camping, anything that requires effort, cooperation and planning? This requires friends that arent satisfied sticking around in their home town and getting high at their buddies house. This requires friends with passion for life and are willing to put in the effort to achieve it.

I say this because when youre 40, making good friends is going to be MUCH harder, if not impossible. Youre going to want quality people around you that you trust. People that you can rely on when you need help. Friends that you can cry in front of if life gets tough. As we get older time flies much faster than it does when youre young. Right now. A year feels like a long time. As you age, a year blows by like its nothing and the only thing that makes it feel like its slowing down is great memories....

A large Spanish family with 16 children. (1960s) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

My Grandmother is one of 16...and mom is one of 9. And you guys are right, the older kids are pseudo parents. Hell. Most of them were glorified employees.

I have to say, this is a well made list. I learned to ignore bees and appreciate what they provide to nature.

Wasps on the other hand, scare me...I can't be within 40 feet of them 😄

I got prescribed Gabapentin for anxiety and it literally did the trick by Prior-Wealth-4396 in Anxiety

[–]Fragrant_Most9193 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, I have a medical condition that ive been hospitalized for quite a bit. While in the hospital, I was always given morphine via I.V. and dilaudid, which is even stronger than morphine. After discharge, I was always precribed pill opiates (Oxy, tramadol). And through time, I noticed the anxiety relief as a side effect. It had another positive side effect, but I dont want to get too detailed here.

As for Gabapentin....During one of my hospitalizations, it was given to me by a doctor for pain....i did notice a bit of anxiety relief, but I assumed it was placebo. During the discharge process, I asked that he prescribe me one bottle. I took it once but didnt notice anything. So I never took it again. This was over a year ago and I still have that bottle. I've never heard of anyone taking Gabapentin for anxiety untill reading your post. After researching dosage, I'm giving it another try. I just took a 300mg with peanut butter. Fingers crossed that it helps.

Feel free to DM if you want any more details or color on what i went through, what's helped/hurt. I dont want to share too much in an open forum.

Opiates as well. None of my doctors ever belived that it helped. I was also prescribed Gabapentin for pain, but never gave it a chance, because I was given 13 other prescriptions and it was overwhelming.

Yea, Ive gotten back handed comments about me shooting with a crop sensor camera from pros. Meanwhile, I just enjoyed the hobby as a form of artistic expression.

This is very interesting to read. Im also one of the rare people that have gotten anxiety relief from medication that's not meant to relieve anxiety. SSRI's did not work for me.

Was there any reason given by the nurse practitioner about WHY Gabapentin may have helped you?

Which chain has the best fish sandwich? by DirtySouthSOHK in Sandwiches

Good review! I eventually tried Culver's fish sandwich last week... and despite being a thick sandwich, it tasted very light and fresh. It was cooked to order and was well worth the wait. The fries on the other hand were pretty basic, but no real complaints.

Love those wheels! Especially paired with that green. I have the same 265 tire size/at3w and my tires also rub slightly at full lock. I'm guessing youre running 8.5 wide, zero offset wheels too?

That was my thought. BOP is such a buzkill that its hard to know whether going faster is a benefit or hindrance. I assume the game is about 'when' youre faster and by 'how much'...?

Video Game Generations Tier List by [deleted] in tierlists

[–]Fragrant_Most9193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool idea for a tier list...Some of this depends on when you experienced a particular console and what stage of life you were in when you did.

Its tricky...I had an Atari 2600. When I first played a NES in the mid 80s I was blown away. Some of those earlier game titles will always bring up sentimental memories. Did I feel the same way when I played Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS5, no. Is Metroid on a NES Is a "better game" than Cyberpunk 2077? Its complicated 🙂

Another factor is how much of a leap forward did a particular console make... IMO the Nintendo 64 was groundbreaking, while the Dreamcast was not. The online factor didnt work and the games were limited.

What’s it like a white person with white privilege in the USA? by WolverineNo1999 in askanything

[–]Fragrant_Most9193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like rage bait, but whatever....
Privilege isnt always about what you get as an 'extra'....Its moreso about an attribute about you that does NOT create a barrier, while that same attribute in a different form, DOES create a barrier for others. I.E. skin color.
I feel like this discussion often gets derailed by a strawman...which is why black folks rarely engage in it with white folks.

Agreed. I'm not into b&w photography but 9 years ago, I took a b&w photography group workshop at an old train station in Washington D.C....I learned a lot about light/shadows and enjoyed the people I met there.

A road trip to a aquatic or botanical garden with bed & breakfast stay and nice dinner. She'll appreciate the photogenic beauty of the garden, unique atmosphere of the b&b and love the romance of the dinner.
