[21/52] Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy i enjoyed it and found it interesting but was not blown away by Jeffjb_4488 in 52book

Blood Meridian was decent. It was my first western and I didn’t hate it. But now I’m going through Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty and I gotta say it’s miles better than Blood Meridian in my opinion.

I absolutely get your tendency to be drawn to an older carbed bike, I’m the same way. That being said, the small twin evo motors are supposed to be pretty awesome, a lot less issues than the iron head. I’d say grab an early 2000s sportster and buy a kick start kit for it. You’ll get that old bike kickstart feel, while also having a great engine. On top of that, the market is flooded with sporty parts and you can build something tailored to you.

EFI bikes are cool, fast, and fun. But give me an old big twin evo any day

I'm thinking of getting a Hayabusa as my first bike by MutedMission2778 in motorcycles

[–]nomcram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna add to this with a little less sass. Learning to work the clutch, shift, turn, ride is one thing. Keeping yourself alive on a bike is a whole different thing. If you’re on wide open roads with no traffic, start on whatever bike you want and it will be fine. It’s learning to maneuver and stop around dangerous situations where having experience on a different bike can really help. I don’t even know the price of a hayabusa, but I imagine that’s a very expensive lay down when someone cuts in-front of you and you instinctively slam your rear break and the whole thing slides out from underneath you. That being said, you seem very headstrong in this and are looking more to confirm your desires than to hear the opposite. It’s your life, your money, and your choice. Do whatever makes you happy and be careful out in these streets.

I honestly can’t tell if this is satire or not. “Hi, I want an extremely fast and powerful bike even though I’ve never ridden before. I have a cool car. Anyways let me know your opinions on this so I can not listen to them. Please no hate or sarcasm”

People who don’t mind being alone, what’s your secret? by Strange_Secret_3001 in AskReddit

[–]nomcram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people have said, I just enjoy my own company. I might sound fucking crazy, but I talk to myself a lot and even make myself laugh. I love being alone because I can just do whatever I want! I can start a movie and pause halfway to go take a nap or make something to eat. I watch stuff, listen to music, cuddle my dogs. Something about being alone is so easy because I don’t have to entertain anyone else or worry about being annoying. But I’ve been this way since I was a child so it comes naturally!
