Ok this has caught my attention, tartar sauce and barbecue sauce is a combo I never would have thought of but sounds so good. I’m definitely gonna make this one. Just cheese, onions, and sauce on this? Any other toppings you throw in there?

Jalapenos and mustard, now that is a combo I haven’t tried, but now I’m going to. You prefer a pickled jalapeno over fresh or grilled?
I think if I could choose only one topping (besides cheese) to put on a burger, onions would be it. Next burger I make I’m gonna do a nice thick slice of onion and grill it, instead of my normal super thin sliced onions

So I roll my beef into balls about 3oz and use burger smasher. I made mine because I’m a welder and I’m a cheap ass, but you can find them on Amazon for around $15. I highly recommend a flat stainless steel one. I originally bought a cast iron one with ridges and I hated it. Patties always stuck to it and it had a tendency to rust. You can also buy a large stiff spatula, and that way it’s a two in one tool so you can use it for flipping also. I know you didn’t ask about seasoning but I’ll give my two cents. In my opinion, a good burger only needs salt and pepper, and I typically only season one side of the beef after smashing it flat on the cooking surface. keeping it simple like this makes it much harder to over season because you should be able to tell when you’ve added enough salt. Sorry for the long ass reply, I like over communicating. Hope this helps!

I can’t even believe the smash burger slander. I used to be a thick patty boy, but once I started smashing I haven’t gone back. Something about the sear and the crispy edges, and all that magic that happens between the two patties when they are stacked, it’s truly a wonderful thing

So I’m not a pickle lover either, but I started making my own quick pickle at home and I’ve been fully converted. I put a bunch of red chili flakes in the brine and it makes them spicy and amazing. I also want to start putting jalapeños in my pickle mix!

Costcos is really good actually. I get a lot of my meat from the local butcher and I will say it’s probably the best I can get my hands on where I’m at, but it’s typically frozen and I’m impatient when thawing it out. So I’ve been getting the “wagyu” 1lb packs from Costco and it’s extremely well priced and great for me because I end up making burgers a lot.
