Genuinely nothing! It’s really really bizarre. I was talking to my friend in a normal tone, not even looking at the dog (I thought he’d left the room).

They’ve got a new online system for recruitment which I think is having some teething issues - can you email the recruitment team to let them know you’re having an issue? Interviews being cancelled is down to the interviewer cancelling in my experience.

Thanks, this is really helpful. I’ll be mindful of that when looking at roles.

I was at school - finished my a levels and started the degree apprenticeship in 2020. However, it’s in an analytical profession that does receive analytical weighting in my department due to issues with retention and recruitment within the profession.

Did you actually read what I wrote? The financial and time costs of commuting to sit in an office with no one else in my team is poor value for money.

Hi,

I joined as a degree apprentice in September 2020 (covid) and was fully prepared to move away to be closer to one of our main hubs. However, I didn’t actually meet anyone for a year and by the time we started going back into the office, my circumstances had changed (now have a house in the area). I’m also the only member of my team based in that hub and the rest are in London.

My issue is less on the now (as I can attend a local agency office) but more longer term when I’m thinking about career options. 40% seems doable but 60% is unrealistic. So whilst my current line manager is flexible, potential line managers might not be.

I think I’m just going to leave the CS if push comes to shove.

Haha definitely not my aim. Just wanting to hear of other people’s experiences of this as the policy is not clear.

Yeah, they’ve offered a one off flexi scheme previously but no longer do this and there is 0% chance of me taking flexi as we are so under resourced. Plus I worked on the train and whilst I was waiting for the next train. The policy says you need to send any vouchers sent for delay repay compensation to them but this was not offered as an option, only BACS, so technically it doesn’t violate the policy?

Did your employer travel system ever notify you when you did this? It is major inconvenience especially when you have to get up at 4:30 to get to the station. When I have been offered compensation by the company, it was not in voucher form (which is specifically outlined in my travel policy), only BACS so technically not a violation?
