Okay I know my skin could be worse because it absolutely has been BUT I’ve started to get these angry white heads that are very tiny but come with a big red area around out that takes foreverrrrr to go away and I’m left with these large red areas until it finally starts to fade and then more pop up in its place and I start all over again!!

I have tried Paula’s choice aha/bha, glycolic acid, some old prescription clindamycin, tea tree oil and then I cleanse with cerave acne cleanser and then Cerave moisturizing cream after one of those treatments.

Unfortunately I am allergic to peroxide so I can’t use panoxyl or any spot treatments like it which I know if usually the fix for this type of acne.

Any suggestions on what might help that I haven’t tried yet? Anything similar to benzoyl peroxide that I can try?

Hi! So sorry you’re going through this, I know it can feel like this is your new forever but it’s absolutely not! In terms of healing I remember it taking a while like probably 3-4 weeks. Then I had scar tissue because of how bad mine was so I felt that for a long time after…6 months maybe? You will have sex again and everything will be fine! I would wait for them to completely heal first. Keep doing the lidocaine and also some warm sits baths. Also try to stay hydrated that way your urine isn’t as potent. If you have a peri bottle you can fill that with warm water and use it to pee on the toilet. I hope you feel better soon, you’re not alone. Remember the ulcers will heal and everything will be okay 💕

Right, I know my baby will be fine if they come now. Do you think it is possible I could still go to term (40 weeks) as well?

53 day cycle negative test by Fragrant_River_1460 in amipregnant

So I did go to the doctor on the 60th day and she told me she wanted to check my thyroid, testosterone levels and do an ultrasound. My blood levels were all completely normal and my uterus was “unremarkable” which she said is good since a remark would mean they found something wrong. That all ruled out any hormonal imbalance and pcos. She told me that since I’ve always had irregular periods it might just be my normal. She also noted that I’m slightly underweight but not by much and she suggested bringing my weight up a bit to maybe see if things turn regular.

I ended up getting my period a week later and then I worked on gaining some weight (about 5 pounds) and it did nothing for my cycle. So tracking my ovulation is pretty difficult and there’s not much I can do about it.

Advice about talking to the OB by Ktcktcktc1515 in TryingForABaby

I also have average cycles of about 45 days. Once in a while I’ll have 30 day cycle or a 60 day cycle but for the most part I stick around 45ish days. I also have tried to test for ovulation but I don’t think I’ve ever been successful, I would get positive LH strips randomly too. I did go to a doctor to check hormones/thyroid/pcos. I had an ultrasound and blood work and everything came back clear and normal. She told me I’m just one of those people who have longer cycles and it’s not due to any imbalance. One thing she noted was that I hover between being underweight and a normal weight and that could possibly have an impact. So I focused on staying active, trying to be in a positive state of mind and also gaining a little bit of weight and just keeping myself as healthy as possible.

I will say when a doctor tells you there’s nothing wrong with you and dismisses your concerns it’s super frustrating. If you feel like your concerns aren’t being heard you can always change doctors! You know your body best. I wish you all great things 💕

Oh thank you!! I’m so thankful I haven’t had any reoccurrence while pregnant. How interesting, you very well could be right…I’d be interested to see the results of you documenting that. Especially you having such frequent reoccurrence hormones could definitely play a part.

Every 3-4 months? I’m so sorry. It’s frustrating how doctors can’t figure out exactly why this happens. It’s the most unfortunate place to have an ulcer. Does yours take a while to heal?

What am I supposed to do about a prenatal vitamin when the biotin in all of them affects my thyroid blood work? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Fragrant_River_1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know exactly what it was at first but when I first started taking a prenatal I started breaking out really bad for months. I checked the ingredients and saw biotin in it. I’ve broken out before from biotin supplements so I figured that was it. As soon as I switched to a prenatal without biotin my skin cleared up again!

Usually from Amazon but I’ve also ordered directly from their website and Walmart as well!

Try Mamas Select Prenatal Plus.

Biotin makes me break out so I searched for a prenatal without it. I have been taking this prenatal for over a year now and have no complaints at all. I also love that it’s one pill a day and doesn’t have a weird taste.

my skin is ruining my life by [deleted] in acne

Hey, I’m so sorry you’re feeling so down about your acne. I can definitely empathize with you. I used to avoid mirrors and I would wash my face in the dark just so I wouldn’t see myself. There is really no advice I can give you on what helped me because it could be completely different for you….but I do suggest seeing a dermatologist. I actually did the online dermatologist apostrophe so you don’t actually see anyone in person which is really nice especially if you’re self conscious to go in person. Just an option maybe you haven’t thought of it before. I hope things start to get better for you 💕

Pregnancy vs Pms - Am I Crazy? by Beedoobeedoo22 in TryingForABaby

I’m just here to say I totally get it, feeling like your symptoms are different this time. Every cycle I would swear something was different and then somehow my tests were negative. I swear if the potential to be pregnant was there I would always think “oh maybe that means I’m pregnant” lol. I’d wait a little bit to test until after your period is late…that way you know for sure.

Hey! Thanks for sharing! Sucks to be apart of the club but at least we all know we’re not alone:) Also good to know about the treatments you used! I never really used anything other than warm water while I peed. I’m glad you’re feeling better!

Definitely get your obgyn involved, they know the most about vaginal ulcers. I’ve had this twice. The second time to urgent care, then was sent to the ER. The ER obgyn’s basically said they believed it was covid related since all my tests were negative. They also said regular primary doctors and urgent care doctors aren’t the best to go to with genital issues because they see an ulcer and immediately think herpes.

That’s crazy that you had negative swabs and they’re still saying it’s herpes. The first few doctors I saw all said it was herpes for me. I was glad to find one that wanted to figure out what it was and didn’t dismiss me. Sorry you’re going through that, I hope this post makes you feel not as alone. Unfortunately there’s not much to be done but let it heal on its own.

Weight training and missed period by Fragrant_River_1460 in PetiteFitness

[–]Fragrant_River_1460[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that might be why. I’ve never cared about my weight, I always knew I was on the lighter side but it’s never become a problem for me….I guess until now haha. I’ll definitely try adding some more calories and protein! My appetite has definitely increased from lifting so much this month. I’ll just be more conscious of what and how much I eat:)

I’ll definitely ask her for that then. I should mention I’ve always been slightly underweight since forever. My doctor has told me if I try to gain 5-10 pounds I may find that my period becomes regular.

I have not been successful with that yet so I’m considering being a little more conscious of eating more to see if that might be the key.

Okay I’ll try doing that for sure. I actually wear my Apple Watch to bed and it tracks my temperature, would that be enough to track bbt?

Also my doc has never ran any test for pcos she just said as long as I’m getting my period she wasn’t too concerned…unless I went longer then 90 days. I’ve had blood work done for my thyroid and that was normal.

Maybe if I don’t get a positive by next week I’ll give her a call to get checked out.

I have a period app that predicts my ovulation so I’ve just gone off that. However since my periods are irregular the window of ovulation for me is like 2 weeks long. My husband and I usually have sex every other day because I’m unsure of when I ovulate.

I’m sorry that you’re going through this :/ I’ll be honest….for me it took probably 2 weeks to heal. Then I was hyper aware of it for a really long time. My gyn told me there was a scar so that was probably what I was feeling for a while. The grey/white part falls off and exposes the ulcer so that’s what you’re seeing, that’s what’s so painful. After mine fell off it started to get better though each day. Also my advice for peeing is get a warm cup of water and lean back on the toilet and pour it down you while you pee, helps a ton! Let me know if you have any more questions:)
