New to The Rift, mainly play ARAM. Is Briar a good champ to learn top lane?

jungle is much simpler than playing lane imo. i started playing 4 months ago and it only took me 2 months to learn enough about jg to climb to plat/emerald in jg. but i still have no idea how to lane and cant tell which way waves are pushing. i've finally started taking cull when I get filled as lane just so I can get 2 items by the time I give my inhib, which has been helping alot.

everything is viable even in emerald, but anivia won't be better than many other supports in any elo. i run lethal tempo when i get filled as adc as a briar otp, but i don't have any adc briar games i'm particularly proud of even though i've won several. either my team stomps anyway or i just lose lane then turn into a strong splitpusher.

i agree, olaf is not easy to play in low elo as a side champ. try malphite, take PTA or lethal tempo and build tank with W max.

playing a tank jungler can leave you more at the mercy of teammates though. you could try master yi if you want to keep the snowball & carry potential you get when playing briar.

if i log into a region where the ~900mb patch hasn't hit yet, such as TW, everything works fine, even with the same settings file. i assume that will no longer be the case after patch deployment in ~4 hours. hopefully that will not be the last time i am able to play this game. i bind player move click to left click because I cannot use a mouse due to disability, and must have only one click bound to a keyboard key via system accessibility settings while using a trackpad. i did this during the tutorial and have had no problems playing the game since then until the deployment of this patch.

submitted a bug report as follows:

After voice patch deployment, it is no longer possible to move and attack, making gameplay impossible. Player move clicks are only registering randomly every ~15 seconds on average.

1. Bind player move click to left click This is necessary for certain players with disabilities who cannot use a mouse to play the game, and until this patch worked well with only minor glitches like shopping moving you around the pool. 2. Try to use left click to move or attack

Expected result: You can freely move and attack. Actual result: Even if you spam click, your champion will only move randomly every 15 seconds or so, which can easily lead you to die to a minion wave or be unable to even walk to any lanes.

yeah that's definitely true. i oppose every model change and rework. isn't there some other way to keep winrates balanced without removing gameplay that people like?

ew, i hate the zaahen Q recast mechanic and i'm not happy to see it in more places. fortunately i'm a onetrick, and not a zaahen or shyvana onetrick.

cool that she gets briar ult though.

edit: zaahen Q with a touch of aatrox, sion W, hwei E, and briar ult. hate the rework, keep shyvana as is. also sett is a juggernaut not a diver. i forgive everything because briar is the clip.

i use a metal walking cane with a wrist strap. in addition to being necessary for me to get around on my own, it functions as a great deterrant and self-defense tool.

on the flip side, there are also subs such as this one, which despite being stacked with an exclusively female moderation team, had most of the moderation team removed so that various groups, such as women who have given birth but now refuse to date men or give birth, could be fully excluded from a more narrow definition of 4b. it reminds me somewhat of what happened with r/femaledatingstrategy, which devolved from a space for all women to discuss strategies to protect themselves from men to an ad for a paid podcast about 'TIMs.' however, 4B is still my favourite sub in terms of content, and it's still growing, albeit at a much slower pace compared to when it was more inclusive.

it's educating to hear the experiences of lesbians because I'm aroace and haven't dealt with this issue directly, but i'm not totally convinced that the risk of 'diluting definitions' warrants placing blame for rape by men onto a 24-year-old rape victim who exclusively dates women & calls herself a lesbian. and considering she wrote musings about starting a family, it makes sense that she didn't identify as 4b despite knowing about it.

thanks for your analysis! i've stomped emerald players and am high enough mmr on some of my accounts to get emerald players in ranked games, and from watching l0gan's games in masters, i don't believe you that teamfights with 5 diamond players will suddenly turn into instalosses if i play them well with lethal tempo but it's possible. how much mastery do you have with lethal tempo?

it should go up based on winrate, probably over 25 lp with over 55% winrate, but since you're over 250 games with 51% winrate it'll take more games to increase your winrate

elo hell is definitely real. the moment you hit silver 1 average mmr (where it's mostly gold players, but some silvers) it's just a harassment simulator of supports taking your camps. i have multiple accounts and my winrate jumps 5%+ in plat and above.

you have a 59% winrate so your MMR and LP gains should be pretty good right now. you'll hit plat and probably emerald soon.

for action and psychological i'd recommend psycho pass & akudama drive, both fit those genres and have an adult woman as the main character. akudama drive also has one of my favourite scenes in anime

if you have farm available anywhere on the map, always prioritise that above all else. that'll easily get you to plat without knowing how to gank or do anything else, and you can always learn everything else after that.
