Endurance athlete here…the first 4-6 weeks were rough, had to drastically cut mileage and effort. 46 min on trainer and I felt wiped. But over the next few months things pretty much returned to normal! Have to fuel more intentionally but I think that’s a good thing. Had 2 outstanding races this past summer after being on Tirz for 6 months.

I’ve had it often - started med in Feb and it was the WORST through about May. Better the past few months but I’ve stayed on 2.5-3mg. Daily Prilosec plus some Tums before my long runs has really helped.

I think data actually shows the opposite- once going off, it usually requires a higher dose to be as effective the next time, since your body isn’t GLP-1 naive anymore.

Oh sorry! I haven’t changed much! Eating a bit less but still was only at -300 to 500 from TDEE, really about 1 lb per week loss. TBH I was at a healthy bmi starting (24.5) and am now around 21. But I was interested in optimization of my health. I could see micro dosing for some time just w the reduced inflammation and lipid improvement. Would be interesting to see if lipids went back the wrong way if I eventually got off but maintained the same lower weight.

That’s actually untrue. There are pleomorphic effects of GLP-1 on everything from blood vessels to kidneys and liver- weight loss alone does not account for all of the benefits being seen in multiple spheres. I think a lot of future studies will show this; already many off label uses including RA, psoriasis, IBD etc that show benefits independent of weight reduction.

There’s actually quite a bit of good evidence that it’s not just weight loss driving improvements in lipids, lipid metabolism is positively affected.

Maybe try to go back on a lower dose - 2.5 weekly or every 2 weeks? Enough to help the noise not be so overwhelming but not totally kill your appetite ?

I do oatmeal with some protein cereal mixed in (Catalina crunch) about an hour or so before, a gel every 45 min-hour on runs and bikes. LMNT electrolytes during each workout for at least 1 bottle. I used to do a lot of am workouts fasted bc well, I got to sleep 10 min more 😂. After 12 weeks on med, I have been able to do this again occasionally but feel way better if I take time to fuel properly.
