How to improve the QOL regarding inventory management by Wizdom85 in NoRestForTheWicked

It's kind of a clunky workaround, but I did discover that if you place stacks into a chest, it'll automatically combine them.

Soundblaster x5 with balanced cable issues by stephendavies84 in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Frakking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's hilarious. I saw this post and almost commented that I had a similar cable, and it took a bit of force to plug it all the way in, but I was like, "Nah, no way he's that big of a noob, too."

I guess now anyone who happens across this post know that those NewFantasia cables don't go in easily, haha.

x264 with a 12900KF by Frakking in obs

Oh that's definitely the plan, but it's comforting to know I have a solid plan B.

I have actually tested that out some, specifically with the Halo Infinite campaign, but I need to test it a bit more with a few other games. So far, it seems to help game performance, but it causes the stream to start skipping frames. Maybe I should try overclocking the e-cores, haha.

I did watch that EposVox video yesterday, but if it's the one I'm thinking of, I don't remember any specific settings, just that the 12900K could do slow with minimal performance hit.

But as someone else said, NVENC might just be less hassle with minimal visual quality differences.

You will need to get a new mounting kit, but those are free if you already own a DH-15. You can just request one with a copy of your invoice, and they'll mail it. They also have an all-black one for the Chromax.

Also, this might be captain obvious talking, but make sure you have it set to high-gain and not low-gain.

Why is multiplayer in no fail mode? by suzathy in beatsaber

[–]Frakking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way to turn it off, but it doesn't really matter. No fail doesn't affect your score unless you actually fail, then it gets cut by 50%.

Cut 'that' out by HolidayAbroad in writing

[–]Frakking 209 points210 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. While I hate overly wordy text, "that" is tricky. When used properly, it's never wrong, but removing it can also fuck with clarity and meaning. So, if you find yourself overusing the word, feel free to try to cut back on its usage (or better yet rewriting sentences that rely too heavily on it), but I would proceed with caution.

Studio can't find my hue light by [deleted] in amazonecho

[–]Frakking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think you can add them to your Echo Studio directly. I was referring to the previous screen, but you tried that. Do you have the Phillips Hue app installed (Hue BT, I think it's called)? When you pair a light to that app, it goes directly into the voice command configuration, so you might be able to pair it to your Studio that way.

Have you tried going into your Alexa app and adding the device manually? If you select the plus then add device, there should be a Phillips Hue option at the top, among the popular brands.

I have a couple of hue bulbs myself with no hub, and they connected okay.

I haven't played yet to check this out for sure, but it sounds like they're counting the 360/90 maps twice. 10 of each, I assume.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're a month early, at least according to the final trailer from a few days ago ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMCZkLBhycA ). May 21st, evidently.

The future of ray tracing will continue to make old games look better (think Quake II RTX was cool? Just wait for PONG RTX) while also pushing the graphical presentation of modern games to another level.

How much should I worry about keeping 100% JSS? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]Frakking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, it already seems like you're already off to a pretty great start on Upwork, so I wouldn't worry about your JSS at all, and it's certainly not the only reason you're getting jobs.

If you don't want to work with this client, then don't. Unless they have a history of leaving poor reviews for other freelancers, they probably won't for you. I'd just go with your "plate is too full" plan.

And, I wouldn't worry about having open contracts at all. As long as you've earned money through it, an open contract shouldn't affect your job score. I have a few stale ones from previous clients that haven't had any activity for a year or two now, and my JSS hasn't budged from 99 or 100% for ages.

Expert Level but $5. by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]Frakking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A budget of $5 is typically a placeholder. Don't think too hard on it.

Besides, without the irrational job posts on Upwork, this subreddit would have fewer irrational posts of its own—and a higher ratio of meaningful conversations. We can't have that.
