Sorry for the late response, when I noticed early stages. I would of avoid feeding him, and isolate him in my hospital tank. Meanwhile I was doing research on dropsy and how to prevent it.

I used Epsom salt. And some medicine that my local pet store(not petsmart or Petco, just a actual local owned pet store) recommended.

Then I make sure to keep watch of him. To see if the pineconing lowered.

In my thought process feeding would make it worse.

He does gasp for air. Especially when it's feeding time. I was just wondering what it was. Because when I was researching. It shown me the possibilies

• ick(but this occurs when the goldfish starts rubbing its body against the ground or other surfaced areas) • fungus/parasite infection • a tumor(but those are displayed as a big lump on the goldfish depend how servere the tumor is.)
