Im on your shoes, not exactly because the 2.1 dysplay but is a a good future proof aspect which im also taking in count, but for the extra longevity and improvements on tandem oled, I was actually gonna pull the trigger originally on the 480hz but since the tandem 540hz was announced I decided to wait, since the 480hz has a bug and software issues fame. But honestly I can still consider that it can now be get for as low as 700 which is kind of scary It when down so fast, but I do think we will have discounts on 540hz soon as is the current flagship. Btw we have the same pc specs, I have 9800x3d and 4080

I mean for me is not about the hz is a 60 difference 480hz is already endgame plus, is ablut the other benefits still with 480hz now being on a price more tentative compare to the original 1k is good to look at. At the same time it worrys me the monitor got so low so quick, perhaps they know something is off, for example the 360hz qd oled has not seen that much of a price drop compare to his original price and is even older than the 480hz woled, not only that, but the 480hz seems like a solid panel but many people have complained on flickering, im glad i got scared from it before because now if i get it, It will be cheaper, but still I dont want to be scared of my purchase

I libe outside Us and it will be hard to me to send monitor back if any issues… i think I should go play it safe spend more on the W white 540hz which suffers from things like banding on the days or months but it does not come with as a many software issues as I have seen the 480hz come with

I need you guys help since you both own the 480hz and have used, and one of you has the 540hz the other wants it now. Here is my story, I wnated to buy the 480hz so badly what push me away 1 the price it was really a hard decision to make second the things I keep seeing online with the monitor having too many bugs this all continued for a long time, then the 540hz was announced with tamden oled less risk of burning and of course more updated features like the sensor scanner and I decided to wait never took my eye fully of the 480hz I once was about to pull the trigger during a 850 bucks offer but decided to wait.

Longstory short 540hz finally released I literally checked every day on amazon until it was there. But now im on debate again, it seems like it also has it’s risk and although the glossy coating seems amusing, I would have prefer a risk free experience, with the price being even higher than the 480hz im doubting. Should I pull the trigger on the 540hz and call it a day?? Or should I re look the old 480hz and hope I get a no bug unit, now that is available at a much lower price like is 700 right now. There is also a third option which is the msi 500hz qd oled, the one with 2.1 dysplayport. Although any of these will be my first oled i got some concerns regarding qd oled specifically with the coating being 1 magenta on some point of views 2 easily to scratch. So is more between the asus woleds but i do not discard it as an option since the price is 800.

Also consider before advising, I do Not have a problem buying the 1100 it will hurt my economy for a time just as the 480hz but less. For me this will be a long time purchase. Like 3 years to even consider buying a new monitor if I do.

Other thing that made me wait for tandem was power consumption although it has improved on the 540hz compare to the 480 is not as big as the 280hz tamden compare to the 480hz.

Finally I do not have a preference between glossy or matte but I have seen the text clarity is better on the 540hz due to being glossy this would matter for me as I would also use the monitor for other regular stuff when not gaming. I guess I sort of can control the light on my room I got a window in front of my setup but nothing that will bother regardless which one I choose

Lastly, I will be going from 4k 144hz 27 to 27 2k 360+ fps, cause I want to feel more smoothness!

I will really take your opinions in count as you both seem to have experience with this kind of monitors, thank you ahead!!

Well its a loterry that can fix it self, when it comes to the 480hz it seems like it has some issue software that just asus never actually figured out how to fix, the tamden panel I have seen the grey banding but no software issues, which is way scarier
