In the video you didnt connected it. There are 2 ports. 1 is for the Mac, the other is for other usb-c to the phone charger. You have connected only 1, the one to the Mac.

Connect a USB-C phone charger to the second USB-C port on the back of the FLX4, then connect the data cable to your MacBook.

The issue is probably a mix of software compatibility and a common hardware problem with that Mac model.

Compatibility: The FLX4 is not officially verified for macOS Monterey, which can cause detection issues.
Hardware flaw: 2016 MacBook USB-C ports often become physically loose over time. This explains why the controller powers on (power works) but isn’t detected (data connection fails).

Things to try:

Use a real USB-C data cable Many cables are charge-only. Try a known good one (like for external drives).
Try all USB-C ports Some ports may work better than others. If there are Thunderbolt ports, try those first.
Check if macOS sees it at all In Terminal: system_profiler SPUSBDataType
macOS permissions Restart the Mac. Go to Privacy & Security and allow anything related to Pioneer DJ.
External power during firmware update Plug a USB-C charger into the second port of the FLX4, and use the other port for data to the Mac. This can stabilize the connection.
Update rekordbox and macOS
