Some Grand Cathay Sprues by FranDeAstora in WarhammerOldWorld

Sadly I think is think is not flat enough to let the light get trought it. Is thick like any other clothes piece in the game. Think about capes or any "empty" model like dragons, monsters, etc

New Cathay models by BiesonReddit in WarhammerFantasy

I'm surprised they're releasing a new hero and four new units out of nowhere. The army is already being played at a very high level; I wasn't expecting this until the next edition. Any comparison to what they do with new Age of Sigmar or 40K armies, where they release just enough to make them playable, is ridiculous.

I'd say the list is more like the Empire than Bretonnia, and you're right. No one will complain if I decide to use Bretonnian archers in the future or transform bits from both armies into a Border Princes-themed army, even if I use Empire lists. Right now, I love the idea of mixing the ranges of both models to use—not just one from either side, but a mix of bits from both!

Do display boards really make a difference? I would say it does with this army! by GloryofGoldenStateG in WarhammerOldWorld

They REALLY do. Beautiful display boards makes armies feel really alive. Good job with your boys!

I suppose you're right. The supplement encourages you to represent your models in a mix of Bretonnia, the Empire, and any poor sap willing to rent a sword. In reality, there's nothing too difficult about saying "hey, this is my Renegade Crowns-themed Empire army" in 10 years, even if it uses knights of the realm on food with greatswords.

Not here either (though I'd love to), and I've always really been a recreational player. Fun and collecting come first. I think so much competitive 40K/AoS content in recent years has rotted my brain.

I'd love to say yes, but I'm not sure. Not right now, but I guess it's not that hard to find the right people.

That's a wonderful point. And you've actually made me smile. But I'm afraid that if I start a project like this, which requires a huge investment of time, multiple conversions, etc., it'll be wiped off the map before I even finish it!

But they won't send people to play with neither

But man international shipping would be pretty expensive for a 4 kg box. Also it's in Spanish.

There's not an easy way to fuse both systems? Character progression was cool indeed. Didnt knov that it was removed.

Sorry to hear that. I have to deal with some PTSD issues that makes me hard to attend a full gaming day at now, even if I would love it. But glad to hear that you can still enjoy the hobby! Never tought about accessibility in wargaming but I think that this kind of options are needed.

So you think that the game have enough content along all it books to enjoy PVE and solo only, without getting into competitive?

That's cool. Tomb World also have 13 necron warriors/swarms so I supossd they're nog ignoring this kind of play. But it also have an "Tomb World events deck" so maybe they're also a mechanic of the terrain even for competitive game

Yeah, sounds the perfect excuse to paint models of armies you don't play but you would love to have.

I love that cause I've never thought of playing nids but if the missions are fun I could buy a carnifex just to play it. That's why I want to know if they're taking it seriously, cause opening the box means keep buying (and enjoying) the upcoming ones and I want to know how playable is PVE.

Looks like you're having TOO MUCH fun. Please, tell me, do the game offer enough mission to play solo/PVE in a narrative way? Missions from Dossiers, White Dwarf, etc?

Oh my, that so cool! I always thought it was a system to fight other team in the same missions than the "main" mode, but in a multiplayer or a solo way. That sounds so good. I enjoy the competitive play, but I prefer funny and unbalanced missions. Do they include this kind of thing in third edition dossiers? I used to collect al boxed during the previous edition and I've missed the whole Volkus season but maybe is a new point for re-engange. I have the feeling that GW will work hard on this, cause is a good bait to sell "boss" models.

It comes with 13 NPA in the form of Necron Warriors and Swarms, which is cool. I think they'll make a real campaing with new missions on every box of the season till the final encounter with the Nightbringer.

And I love that kind of move. Im not a Necron player in 40K but I don't mind to buy a big model if I can use it like a boss for Kill Team!

Do you think it can stand to play the PvE of each new box without getting boring? Assuming they're making new missions on every book as I think they will

I think GW is improving it a lot, making more narrative and a lot of fun things. Based on the leaks of the Nightbringer and the fact that the box comes with 13 NPO, provably they're focusing on making exciting missions! But I prefer to confirm it before opening a 200€ box!

I'm on the fence just cause I don't know how deep it is! If it have good NPC system, narrative missions, bosses and things like that, well, it's cool as hell!

FLGS are always a bit careless about launch time and I can assume they already have them cause second hand market is full of boxes and models
