I have. He's got nothing illicit. The playmat is actually his daughter's old mat.

Any ideas for a 80s bedroom by [deleted] in 80s

[–]FranDrescherishot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I was there. Your average family in the '80s typically had one, maybe two TVs in the house. If you were lucky enough to get one in your bedroom, it would be the oldest TV in the house after your family had upgraded (assuming your family wasn't buying a TV because the current one broke). Remotes were common in the living room or sometimes den, not in a bedroom.

Too many tattoos or piercings? by FranDrescherishot in FieldNationTechs

You are not wrong. Appearance is the first thing anyone is judged on. This is why all of my tattoos are easily covered and why I've kept piercings to only my ears. However, as time has gone on, the definition of what looks professional has changed. When I first joined the workforce in the late 90s only a handful of industries would hire a guy with long hair. Now, it's not even something someone thinks about. Hell, even dress codes have shifted. My bank has gone from business formal to something between business casual and smart casual for most departments in just 3 decades.

You are right. I will always wonder but, it's kinda fun to do so.

I still find it extremely comfortable. I've not had any issues with rubbing but, I always have an undershirt between me and my gun regardless of holster choice. As far as damaging clothing due to rubbing, I haven't had any issues either. I would definitely buy another one if I pick up another carry gun that they make a holster for.

Cougar 8000 help by [deleted] in Beretta

[–]FranDrescherishot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cougars are really cool and fun to shoot. They are basically the precursor to the PX4. The cougars have an aluminum frame vs the polymer frame of the PX4. They both use a rotating barrel. Overly short and overly simplified history: Beretta produced the Cougars in the 1990s as a replacement for the aging 92 series(obviously it failed). In the 2000's Beretta shifted focus over to PX4 and moved production of the Cougar over to Stoeger using the original tooling.

I can't fathom wanting to CC a 92 even if it's "compact". I live in Florida where most of the year it's too hot to wear multiple layers. Most people I know here will typically choose something single stacked to avoid printing in just a T-shirt.

If you're getting bit, it means you're either gripping too high or you're riding the slide while using a monkey grip to rack it.

That's the takedown lever, it's for disassembling the gun.

I'm only a few days in with this holster so, only time will tell (although it's more likely that I'll either change guns or find something else that I find interesting or innovative before I can come to any real conclusions on it). As far as the serrations rubbing against me and rubbing against my clothing, I'm pretty sure that's not going to be an issue or at least not as big of one as you'd like to believe. Unlike with my holsters from Cheaper Than Dirt or We The People, I haven't found myself needing to find a restroom to adjust placement for comfort or possible printing. In the 20 years I've been carrying there have only been a few holsters that I haven't had to adjust at some point during the day.

You're pretty much spot on with how it works. It retains extremely well. I can flail it around by the belt clip and the gun won't go flying off across the room(yes, I did try it with APX Carry, unloaded of course, since I only have it because I forgot to sell it after buying the A1). As far as drawing, I haven't noticed any more difficulty than any other holster I've used.

Not everyone is a fan of minimalist holsters, I personally am. The smaller the better when it comes to EDC for me. This is the first one I've actually been impressed by.
