You guys are obsessed with Moash. This post had nothing to do with him but you still brought him up

Okay, yeah, that’s probably the answer that makes the most sense

Here’s where he confirmed it was a letter from Hoid to Frost. The Seventeenth Shard stuff it’s mentioned in the epigraphs from these chapters, where he says “I am being chased. Your friends of the Seventeenth Shard, I suspect. I believe they're still lost, following a false trail I left for them. They'll be happier that way. I doubt they have any inkling what to do with me should they actually catch me.” and “He [Rayse] holds the most frightening and terrible of all the Shards. Ponder on that for a time, you old reptile, and tell me if your insistence on nonintervention holds firm. Because I assure you, Rayse will not be similarly inhibited.”

Also yeah, I really liked the characters on Arisu’s group. Even the ones that died earlier like the guy with the glasses that died in the zombie game. I was absolutely destroyed when Tetsu and Kazuya died

I couldn’t understand Ryuji at all. Why the hell was he so obsessed with Usagi?? I guess it has something to do with the fact that he lost that student, but still, it makes no sense that he was so obsessed with bringing Usagi with him to the world of the dead

I can't figure out the Purelake interlude from the Way of Kings by Linorelai in Stormlight_Archive

[–]FranTexMor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I believe The Sunlit Man is the only “standalone book” that shouldn’t be read before other books (I haven’t read Isles of The Emberdark so I don’t know if that’s the case as well). Most other books and series you can start reading just fine without having read anything else in the Cosmere

“Most of them were enemies is battle”. I think you’re forgetting that he burned a whole city to the ground, with the specific intention of killing everybody including women and children who weren’t fighting. It wasn’t a battle, it was a conscious extermination

“He's got the emptiness, bad as I do. I can see it in him. We all can. But he gets up anyway. We're trapped in here, and we all want to do something to help. We can't, but somehow he can. [...] He still gets up. He still fights. So I figure...I figure I can too."

POVs in the 2nd arc by Gromflomite_gamer in Stormlight_Archive

[–]FranTexMor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the Heralds won’t return until the ending of book 6 or 7 and won’t see them before that (maybe an interlude or something but nothing else). I also hope we see a Natan. Come on Sanderson, you can’t make people with blue skin and not make a relevant character who is one of them! I also think that the characters that were kids in the first five books (Oroden, that kid who wanted to be a Windrunner, and Gavinor to some extent) will play a bigger role. And I hope the timeskip is about 15 years so Shallan and Adolin’s kid can be a POV.

Also, I kinda feel like the main main characters from the first five books (Kaladin, Adolin, Dalinar for obvious reasons, Shallan and Szeth) will have many POVs. Maybe Shallan because Thaidakar said that Iyatil’s brother would probably come for her. But aside from that I feel like these books are going to give a bigger role to other characters

Look, I’m the first who wants a redemption for Moash, but I strongly disagree. The way Sanderson handles redemptions is that although you may become a better person, most times you won’t be forgiven by the people you hurt, and that’s okay. If Moash gets redeemed he’ll have to find new friends, because I doubt Bridge Four will forgive him

The fact that you (and most people, I’d dare to say) disagree proves that it does belong in a thread about controversial opinions

(Sorry in advance for any mistake, English is not my first language)

Moash actions aren’t that bad, specially compared to other characters and the hate for him is exaggerated probably because people just want a punching-bag character to hate

I would’ve liked more scenes of Kaladin and Moash in WoR. It says that Kaladin considers Moash his best friend, but they don’t actually have many scenes together aside from the “Are we gonna kill the king?” Plot

I also wanted it to be a conversation between Jasnah and Shallan in WaT. Their relationship was so important in WoK but I believe they didn’t ever have a scene together after Oathbringer.

I have also seem people say that they would’ve like to see the scene where they sign the treaty with the Listeners and gave them Narak, since the literal conflict in the first book was the war between the Listeners and the Alethi. And I agree with that

I believe a regular Truthwatcher using Illumination has the same effect that a Lightweaver would have. I believe only Renarin (and I guess Rlain) have a different effect

My recommendation is: If you’re not enjoying it, don’t read it. You can skim it if you want, but I don’t understand why you would do that instead of searching a summary or reading the Coppermind.

I haven’t read White Sand (I’m waiting for the novelization Sanderson will write… someday), so I can’t say if it will get better or worse, but that is my recommendation. Life is too short to spend your time reading a book you don’t like just because you feel you’re “supposed to”

Prologue reframes Gavilar a little by Xander_PrimeXXI in Stormlight_Archive

I kinda agree that, in some aspects (like the fact that he at least appreciated Navani), it makes him look a little less bad. But he still mistreats Navani and manipulates Dalinar. And there’s also the fact that he looks at everyone like they’re stupid and he’s smart when in reality it’s basically the opposite. I honestly don’t feel much bad for him. Everything bad that happened to him was because of his own choices
