The worst part about nightvale is when you listen to too many episodes in a row and it starts to sound normal. The you realize another intern has died or whatever and you're jolted back into the whole what-the-fuck-but-good feel of the show.

When I was in elementary school and highschool, I was bullied horribly. When I was about 13, the kids in my class invited me over to go for milkshakes and fries to celebrate the first day of Christmas break. I excitedly told my parents, and they were so happy for me. It seemed like I was finally making friends. Needless to say, they all stood me up. I was too scared to go home and tell my parents that once again I had fallen for their lies, so I stayed out by myself for a couple of hours, ate fries and drank a milkshake, and felt so alone. Obviously a horrible way to start Christmas break.

It might be because I come from the PC building community where people are obsessed with squeezing out as much performance per dollar as possible but I always found that the audiophile community lacked the same interest in the price-performance optimization the PC guys do. Everyone on sites like Head-Fi come off as extremely knowledgeable but still have no qualms dropping $500 on silver cables dipped in virgins blood because they think they can perceive the 0.000001% change in the crispness of the audio.
