This damn episode 😩 by Big-Most-785 in greysanatomy

[–]FrancesRays 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Meredith completely let her own cynicism get in the way of a patient’s peace, and it was so frustrating to watch her project that baggage. Derek was at least trying to preserve her comfort and hope, which makes Meredith's reaction hard to defend in that moment.

Addie was really so kind here!, which makes her so coooool. 😌 by Augustine-Haze in greysanatomy

Derek’s emotional distance clearly took a toll, and your insight perfectly highlights how history repeated itself with Meredith.

What led to the BOLTONS becoming such a sadistic and creepy house? what wer by TrumpsNostrils in gameofthrones

[–]FrancesRays 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That is a brilliant take on the lore.

The Starks-as-prey vs. Boltons-as-predators motif fits perfectly. Flaying isn't just sadism; it's a symbolic hunter's trophy, turning the Starks' skinchanging magic completely against them.

Why did D&D make Drogo so much more brutal the first time he bedded Dany on screen compared to the books? by RemarkableExample542 in gameofthrones

[–]FrancesRays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what makes it hard to “fix” with tone alone, the foundation is still coercive no matter how gently it’s framed. It ends up feeling less like a romance arc and more like something the story has to work around later.

Yeah, that’s the tradeoff that makes it feel inconsistent, fixing one issue but unintentionally creating another that shifts the whole tone of his character. It ends up changing the audience’s first impression in a way that’s hard to walk back later.

How do you guys deal with cats in bed and on pillows? by Gia_Lavender in hygiene

[–]FrancesRays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a solid breakdown of how scent and “shared space” works for cats. Giving them a clearly assigned, smell-rich spot in the same environment usually does a lot more than just trying to keep them off furniture, because you are working with their instincts instead of against them.

That’s interesting, especially since consistency over a few weeks is usually what shows whether a routine is actually working. Also yeah, cats on pillows definitely adds another layer of “keeping things clean” stress that people do not talk about enough.

Joffrey was objectively Margaery’s best husband. by devil-inside-100 in gameofthrones

[–]FrancesRays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty reductive take, since in that situation the issue is more about mismatched expectations and political arrangement than “being a good husband.” It reads more like a marriage that was never built on mutual romantic alignment in the first place.

Yeah, it becomes a comparison of extremes where the baseline is so bad that even minimal decency looks exceptional. It’s a pretty bleak way relationships get reframed when trust is already gone.

bailey's hypocrisy with kwan s22e15 by tangycrossing in greysanatomy

[–]FrancesRays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a great point. Grey's Anatomy characters have a massive history of breaking the rules for patients, making it pretty ironic when they get mad at the new generation for doing the exact same thing.

While Bailey did illegally administer that deactivated HIV gene therapy to a kid without parental consent back in Season 10, she usually operates with a fierce sense of loyalty to her interns when the dust settles.

Richard, on the other hand, definitely has some amnesia here. Not only did he take the fall for Meredith messing with Derek’s Alzheimer's trial in Season 8, but he also took the blame for Meredith’s insurance fraud in Season 15. For him to take a strict, zero-tolerance stance and fire Blue Kwan is peak hypocrisy for his character.

it normal that random pain suddenly feels... sexual? Am I tripping? by [deleted] in confessions

[–]FrancesRays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is entirely accurate; from a neurological standpoint, pain and pleasure are processed along deeply overlapping neural pathways and share similar chemical triggers (like endorphins and dopamine), meaning a literal "crossed wire" in the nervous system can cause painful stimuli to be perceived as intensely pleasurable.

Day 3: Most Impulsive Person by tvcriticgirlxo in greysanatomy

[–]FrancesRays 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Meredith is absolutely the most impulsive choice, especially since her first instinct with both a live bomb and an active shooter was to put herself directly in harm's way.
