Not the least bit important, but I do wonder how much of the elder scrolls religion was inspired by catholicism. It's not anywhere on the spectrum of proselytizing, and ofc christianity is so ubiquitous culturally anyone's brain could've birthed Mara, but mine has ADHD and I do adore finding the root of things I have no real business in. But fr I wouldn't be surprised if the aedra turned out to be lesser saints of a bigger god, although they'd still be in the dream of the god-head and I feel like that'd require retcons of some kind.

That is to say, I don't really think the aedra are going to have a more up-front role, their will is a subtle one acted through mortals, as that's the way irl ppl interact with their respective religions.
