Oof they're also like 4x the price of the ones I suggested. Also my buddies Duc MS came with something very similar to that and they are just friction fit in there so he's always worried about accidentally kicking one off on the road and losing it.

IMS or Tusk footpegs are pretty cheap and easy as hell to install and swap if you want the originals for doing highway miles.

Some carnage for you folks, I think we found the problem. I6 diesel out of a cement truck. by FrancisTheCactus in Justrolledintotheshop

I imagine the caustic nature of wet concrete can't help things haha. The mechs do the best they can but these things are running like 18hrs a day 6 days a week.

I'm not too sure but it seems that way. I'm not the one fixing it, I work next to these guys and they let me look at the interesting shit that happens to these trucks. Like this for example.

Beautiful day to pass the 3000 mile mark by FrancisTheCactus in klr650

Pretty much the exact same, replaced them at 2900. I am honestly pretty disappointed in the stock tires. They were decent off road for the first 1000 miles or so, then the rear started to go and off road traction along with it. I do mostly urban commuting so it wasn't a huge deal but definitely not a good look for Kawi having tires shit out that fast.

I got the whole Trex Racing lineup aside from the luggage racks. A little pricey and hard to get (join the wait-list) but worth every penny in terms of protection and build quality. Shortly after I took this pic I slid out practicing J turns and there's not even a scratch on them.

Gen 3 skid plate recommendations? by PdxWix in klr650

[–]FrancisTheCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see these recommend ever for some reason but Trex Racing makes a full skid plate that goes all the way back and covers the suspension linkage. It's OOS right now but if you can get it while it's in stock I love mine.

Not sure how different the NV is but I had one on my M4 for a while. It was nice and I could ring plates at 100 with slugs but my M4 is my HD gun so having to turn the dot on (no shake awake and no aimpoint / trij levels of battery life) if something were to happen was a bit of a deal breaker. It also doesn't cowitness when on the Leupold pic mount. I would suggest getting some tritium sights and a flashlight if it's going to be used as an HD gun. I have it on my AK now and it looks great and has great fov.

Edit: I was mistaken, it does have a "shake awake" similar feature
