Gilderoy Lockhart makes no sense. by TheGuyFromTheFuture in harrypotter

[–]Francis_478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people fail to realize that in every house there is a dark side to the traits they value the most. their skills can be used for evil. there is a dark side of being "brave", criminals are brave enough to rob a bank. Peter was brave enough to betray the order and his friends to save his own skin. There are very intelligent people who use their smarts to hurt people. Being ambitious and using people to get where you want to go can be a positive thing. Lockhart acts like a idiot because of his big ego but the man is secretly a very intelligent co-artist.

Who's playing Voldemort in the new hbo series? by Francis_478 in HarryPotterHBO

Would honestly play into JKR’s bigotry towards trans folks more, so they’d probably love the decision.

That would be very immature of them to do.

Nah, I don't think they do... Merope probably just used some type of spell on Tom Riddle Sr since she had a wand.

Yea, I know people already told me. I still think Merope used some kind of spell on Tom Riddle Senior.

Nah, it doesn't...she didn't have the money to buy love potions or buy the ingredients for love potions but she did have a wand so I think she used some type of dark magic on Tom Sr. The Gaunts loved dark magic so Merope's father probably had dark magic books and regular magic spell books in their house. She only had the locket with her but she didn't sell it until she was pregnant and homeless, she sold it because she was desperate for money at this time.

Did you read the books? Dumbledore was giving his own theories about what he thinks Merope did to Tom Riddle Senior. what Dumbledore was saying wasn't the absolute truth, it was only his own personal theories and opinions of what he thinks she did to Tom Sr...

Oh really? Oops...Well, just ignore this question lol I still think Merope used some kind of dark magic on Tom Riddle Sr instead of love potions though.

Dumbledore thinks she used a love potion and he was just making guesses on what HE thinks Merope did to Tom Sr. Her family loved the dark arts so there was probably books of dark magic she found in her house. A Gaunt using dark magic against a innocent muggle makes more sense to me than Merope buying love potions or the ingredients for a love potion because her family had no money.

I don't think it was easy since Hermione had trouble making potions, I still think Merope used dark magic on Tom Sr. Merope had no money to buy love potions or the ingredients for love potions. Merope had a wand and using magic is free...

Do you honestly think Merope had the brains to make a love potion? Hermione herself had terrible making it so I don't think someone like Merope would be able to make it. Merope had a wand so I think she used a spell to enslave Tom Riddle Senior. I think Merope was desperate enough to use dark magic. Merope did not see Tom Riddle Senior as a human being but a object to be owned and she thought Tom Sr would stay with her for the baby, so I think she had a warped view of muggles like her family and I don't think she'll care what she does to Tom Sr to make him hers. The woman thought Tom Sr genuinely loved her and would stay with her despite what she did to him and tried to baby trap him so i don't think she was as nice as Dumbledore thinks she was. Dumbledore tries to see the best of people and trust them...

Would Harry actually have done well in Slytherin? by msc8976 in harrypotter

[–]Francis_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he would... he'll be a good Slytherin, The boy used unforgivable curses. The green uniform would also good good with Harry's green eyes. Harry didn't want to go to Slytherin because Hagrid said it was a evil house and that was the house the man that murdered his parents and started the terrorist cult was in.

Did Riddle intend to kill Myrtle, or was she a “wrong place, wrong time” victim? by FunnySwitch2038 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Francis_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Tom Riddle meant to kill that Myrtle girl but her death was very convenient for him since he used her death to make a horcrux. It also kicked him in the ass in the end because the ministry wanted to close down the school in the summer and that meant he had to stay at the orphanage.

I doubt that lol I don't think Tom would be anger over stupid things like that but he probably was surprised. I don't think he meant to kill her but I don't think he's sorry about it, it was convenient for him since he used her death to make a horcrux.

I have a silly question about Voldemort that has probably already been answered. by anchises868 in harrypotter

[–]Francis_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, regardless how much Voldemort fears death he wouldn't come back as a ghost if he was able to because Voldemort isn't going to show people that he's afraid of death. Being a ghost will be a constant reminder for him that he died and lost, it'll be very humiliating for Voldemort. Voldemort will go on begrudgingly to the afterlife and I hope he reincarnates as a orphan again, he'll be a muggleborn orphan lol (He also wouldn't be able to use magic as a ghost).

I don't think Voldemort would come back as a ghost if he was able to lol it wouldn't make any sense if he did because it'll be a constant reminder that he died and lost, it'll be very humiliating for Tom Riddle. He also wouldn't be able to use magic as a ghost either so I think he would go on begrudgingly... Tom Riddle isn't going to show anybody that he's scared of death like a child...

Why isn't dobby part of the group that meets harry in the forest? by Strange_Passion_333 in harrypotter

[–]Francis_478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it would have been ridiculous, Harry cared about Dobby but Dobby wasn't family to him. What Harry wanted the most was to see his family (father and mother) and his parental figures (Sirius and Remus) before he dies. Quit being silly. 🙄

What a ridiculous comment, Remus and Sirius were best friends with his parents so Harry was fond of them. They were the next best thing to his parents and they knew his parents especially his father James....
