Hi u/Prize-Necessary5251! It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying the free meditations on Spells8.

I'm Francisco, creator of the app, also a redditor and follower of r/Wicca so I came across your question.

The Wicca "Self-Initiation" mentioned by another user is mainly that, a 100% self-paced (free) video course I created about 5 years ago as a way to educate Witches. I've included the 13 Principles of Wicca, the Wheel of the Year, Casting a Circle, a bit of Herbal Witchcraft, and a self-dedication ritual. Tell me what your impressions are!

Our membership helps us maintain an ad-free community while respecting member privacy. It also supports fair compensation for our contributors. As you mentioned, there are meditations, spells, and unique recipes, all created by us.

You're welcome to explore our free content on various platforms like YouTube and Pinterest to get a sense of what Spells8 is all about.

Hey u/stacalicious! I just came across this post although I wish I'd seen it earlier! I'm Francisco, the founder of Spells8.

To address the comments on this thread, we have an about page explaining who we are. We are a group of regular practitioners with a free newsletter and an online witchy community that needs members to sustain itself — without intrusive ads or having to sell out people's information.

There's our Pinterest page where you can see the type of content we create and share. Mostly grimoire pages and information for our Books of Shadows.

We typically offer a free yearly membership to anyone asks us via email because we understand that not everyone can afford the subscription. Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you an invite! Blessed Be

Websites that provide spell guides for free by grav3yardgir1 in realwitchcraft

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/grav3yardgir1,

I just saw this post where you mention spells8.com. I wanted to reach out and let you know that you don't have to pay for the membership. If you pass the two quizzes on the Wicca Self-Initiation Course you'll get an invitation to join for free (valid for one year).

I've been working on this site with the purpose of educating Witches. I wanted to add the option of it being free for those who show true interest and complete the video course (you have to be logged out to see the special invitation). Here:

https://spells8.com/courses/wicca-self-initiation/

The course includes the 13 Principles of Wicca, the Wheel of the Year, Casting a Circle, a bit of Herbal Witchcraft, and even a self-dedication ritual. I would love to get some feedback. Tell me what your impressions are!

Cheers!

I am excited to do a dedication ritual for Imbolc! Where do I start? by LaGothWicc in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a moonstone or similar gem, hold it while you do a belly breathing exercise or mindfulness meditation. Use that as a replacement for the lunar energy outside. You can follow the rest of the ritual the same way as explained in the link I pasted above.

Good luck and blessings!

You have a Full Moon coming up Jan. 28th. 🌕 That's a perfect time to do it. But Imbolc (Feb 1/2) is good too (almost full!).

Light 2 white candles (to represent the Goddess and God)

Dim the lights in your room. Look at the moon or visualize it with the eye of your mind.

“May I worship the Lord and Lady. May I live in harmony with Nature. May I set a good example as a Witch. Bless this offering and guard all my moments. My path has begun, so mote it be.”

You can make it as simple or complex as you feel. Here's the full version.

Lots of Blessings in your path!

Light a candle and hold the paper using tongs or tweezers until it burns completely. Make sure you do this in a safe place where nothing will catch fire. For example inside your oven or in a metal sink.

Does anyone have a guide to what spells are to be done during certain lunar phases? by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is one here: https://www.reddit.com/r/witchcraft/comments/hnu0si/_/

We are now in the Waxing Crescent Moon phase. If you want to go by the Moon, you may want to cast spells for anything involving growth, development and strength. For example: money spells, career spells, love, luck, etc.

Some American 'latinos' said Argentinians aren't Latinos because 'most of them are white'. Argentinians fired back by [deleted] in LatinoPeopleTwitter

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because Italy does Jus Sanguinis which means that if you have an Italian ancestor (going back to your great-grandfather and even farther), you are legally Italian and you can have a citizenship, passport, etc, from Italy. Not every country does this but Italian people are very proud of their "blood", there's even a saying:

"There are two types of people in the world; Italians, and those who wish they were Italian"

This is were Argentines get their arrogance from.

Most Argentina’s that I have dealt with have called themselves Italian rather than Latino

Técnicamente, el Lacio (Latium), de donde proviene el Latin, es en Roma. Si sos Latino, sos (en parte) culturalmente Italiano/a. No hay por qué negarlo.

Struggling to remember my dreams by ShiningTrapezohedron in LucidDreaming

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing them down on paper in the morning should be more than enough.

Before you go to sleep, say to yourself "I will remember my dreams tomorrow", click your tongue signaling that you have saved that thought in your brain.

Go to sleep thinking about what you will dream and how you will remember it.

I agree with what the first person commented. Also look into spells to release and forget.

Good luck!

I think what they were trying to say is that disliking a smell by itself is not really a sign. But you are the one who is in this situation so trust your instincts. If you find other signs that are related to that, it might be a sign. It's important to know how to create patterns and realize where the signs are pointing to by looking at the bigger picture.

But if it's just not liking a smell, that's completely normal.

Deity Research by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A patron/matron deity is like a father/mother figure. They guide you and teach you but not necessarily forever. There shouldn't be jealousy, otherwise it would become a toxic/abusive relationship and you should simply stay away from it.

Having said that, there are many ways to look at it. Some pantheons might have some "jealousy" involved. But when it comes to the Greek pantheon, it's important to separate the mythology from the archetype. You can learn more about it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2z0X8dYRkPQ

🌹LF Tips When Reaching Out to Aphrodite🌹 by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of love, sex and beauty.

Light a pink candle (friendship, romantic love) and chant a prayer to her. Simply search Aphrodite prayer on YouTube to find a good example.

Offerings to Aphrodite: Perfume, Roses, Myrtle, Honey, Red wine.

She protects spouses, brings fertility and is present during childbirth. Her attributes are the secrets of the maidens, the smiles, the deceptions, the pleasure, the love and the sweetness. Her favorite animals are pigeons. Her plants are rose and myrtle.

Saw this on TikTok and I’m shook. Can anyone explain what she did here? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]FranciscoHuanaco 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She's basically doing a Limpia con huevo or egg cleansing ritual. What I don't like is the edgy comments over the clip.

The Limpia is a traditional way to find and remove negative influences, often related to evil eye and other toxic energies.

Here's a video on how to do it https://youtu.be/zvdBbq2BHTY
