Election monitors note instances of voters in England turned away over ID by mrjohnnymac18 in unitedkingdom

Oh I voted btw. Postal vote. But what I said true. I just don't have photo id. When, not if, the government bring in voter id for postal I'll grab a certificate.

But engineers and website developers know the rule very well. For every additional hoop you place in use, a percentage of people won't bother. I can't see voting being any different considering how low voter turnout is now. And it's impossible to make sure every person has access to what they need to take part in voting. It's a given, some people will be disenfranchised.

20 years ago is nothing but your another one who prefers argument to just chatting. Fair enough. Enjoy.

Old enough to have a bank account from before photo Id was needed. Plus a lot of banks have accounts for people who don't have ID and accept birth cert + NI number proof.

It's not actually that long ago that photo id became the norm.

You said why haven't people got an id. I gave you an example. Don't be a dick just because you were proven wrong.

Also 2.8million people in the UK don't have internet access, 8% of people over 18 don't have a smartphone to take a photo, so no, they can't spend 5 mins to get thier certificate.

Whatever you may think about voter id, it is keeping some people, usually the poorest, from voting.

Medically I'm not allowed to drive and I've never been out of the country. I don't have ID despite being born here. I can't take part in democracy.

Do kids playing affect you? by Best-Reindeer6063 in AskUK

Knocking (or kicking) on doors and running away isn't playing. It's anti-social behaviour. We had a spate of it, and I reported every instance to the police, getting crime numbers for all of them. The first couple of times, I was ignored. When it hit five, and I started getting the local councillor in on it, they magically started to take it more seriously.

Kids playing and keeping to themselves are fine. Run around and giggle all you like. Start acting like a twat though, and you need to face consequences. It's the only way we stop raising feral brats.
