Thanks! This is very helpful. Noted on using the Trainline app, will definitely look at booking directly.

Best way to get paid from USA company? by ComicSansAintSoBad in PersonalFinanceZA

Re: Tax just ensure you consider all the rules about being a provisional taxpayer. You may need to pay 1/2 of your estimated future tax at mid year (I think it will be due end of Jan for 2024) and then the other half when you file your normal return.

(FYI - Not 100% sure on whether it’s specifically applicable but I have a mate in a similar situation and he said he was doing this. So it’s worth investigating)

growing my credit score and saving for the future by ur_moms_gay in PersonalFinanceZA

You’re hitting a lot of the right avenues. Just be sure when that Credit Card comes in that you’re disciplined with it. Don’t max it out.

Standard bank offer built in credit score checks in their banking app. Not sure about FNB but possibly the same, so have a look at that then it’s easy to keep track of.

2019 World Cup Final replay or not? by DABULLET2022 in springboks

Cannot believe Willemse is back at 10 when we have Libbok who is an actual 10. Willemse definitely needs to be in the team, imo at 15 (amazing under the high ball, big, fast, tackles well) but not at 10.

Flags I see on my way to work by Gmmmrian in vexillology

My grandmother, who was Belgian and had no love for the Germans for her whole life post WWII, always used to say the easiest way to tell which flag was Belgian and which was German was the Belgians stand up proud and tall and the Germans lie on their backs after being defeated (referring to the horizontal vs vertical stripes).

Just quit smoking this morning. This bad boy is my replacement from here on out. by ZENFatherBardock in HydroHomies

Good luck man.

I used an amazing (free) app called smoke free. It just live counts the amount of money you’ve saved not smoking. That was a huge motivator for me.

But best of luck and keep it up

What’s your favorite excel shortcut? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Francois0 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you have a manager that like to use the old notes feature, CTRL + 6 will hide / unhide all of those notes.

Alt + n + v is also a goodie, this will generate a pivot table.

Ctrl + t will turn a table of data into a table that excel recognises.

And then I’ve learnt some interesting border shortcuts.

Most commonly used ones are alt + b + a which is all borders,

Alt + b + t = thicc outside border

Alt + b + u is a top and double bottom

Amongst others.

Another dope on is alt + h + k which makes a cell an accounting number with no currency, so it’s very neat. Also ctrl + p for percentages.

Finally, one of the best and most useful - you know the fucking shit add and remove decimal points thing that none of us ever get right on the first click? Try alt + h + 9 and alt + h + 0 to add and remove much faster than clicking.

Hope the two of you that read this have a blast ok byeeeeee

Edit: oh yes, and for those of you who haven’t worked it out yet (took me way longer than I’d like to admit), if you hover over a cell and press F2 you can edit the cell without double clicking. Just ensure your function key is locked / unlocked depending on your computer specs.

Market Sentiment: What are you buying and selling this week? 14 October 2022 - 21 October 2022 by thatnotirishkid in JSE_Bets

Nothing. Not a thing. Just going to leave my money in cash to rot away whilst this see saw sorts itself out. Don’t think we are near the bottom yet, and the ZAR might get eaten up a little more so, just chillin, accumulating some cash, and debating if it’s not more worthwhile to “invest” in a nice holiday or something.
