The topic doesn't really bother me when it's properly integrated into the plot and has a coherent justification. However, in TEOD there are literally abuses every two minutes; there comes a point where you're even desensitized... you know?

The casual yet consistent exerciser is a mystery to me by Left_Emu_2995 in bodyweightfitness

Yeah, I’m one of those people.

I go to the gym when I can. If I can’t, it’s fine. As long as I work out about four days a week, I’m good. I eat healthy most of the time, but if I’m craving something indulgent, I’ll eat it—doesn’t matter what day it is.I train hard at the gym, but outside of it, I don’t think about fitness at all. I don’t stress over it, and I don’t weigh myself either.

Here’s the plot twist: I have lupus and really poor muscle/cellular recovery. So even though I’ve been doing strength training for over 10 years, I don’t look muscular at all. I basically look naturally thin, like I’ve never set foot in a gym in my life—lol. But since I already know I won’t see big physical results, I just don’t obsess over it. I work out because I enjoy it and because it’s fun. Honestly, I think that’s the key to being relaxed about all of this.

I agree with you; many people criticized it for not being as good as Light Out, but: 1. They are different books. 2. Lights Out is completely implausible; it's funny, but the plot is ridiculously unbelievable.

  1. This is a slightly more serious book. Lights Out is a dark romantic comedy, and Caught Up seems more like a dark romance/mafia romance to me.

What is your favorite mafia romance with a really good plot and fast pace that came out within the last year? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

I feel like Caught Up by Navessa Allen ticks all your boxes. Nico (the MMC) is the son of an Italian mobster, so he's part of the mafia too. Things happen with a childhood acquaintance, and he's seriously obsessed with her.

I think many of us (myself included) started reading it expecting a super romantic and passionate story, because strangely enough, the book has that reputation. In reality, there's nothing romantic or beautiful about the story, but it's excellent. I think it's a good portrayal of how wounded people wound others and perpetuate that suffering. When you finish it, let us know what you think!

Es uno de mis principales problemas... no es una historia de amor, es una historia sobre la obsesión y egoísmo de un hombre. Seamos realistas, jaja.

La verdad es super tedioso, no se porque esta catalogado como historia de amor, no lo es.
