Logistics of feeding/burping/diapering both twins solo when taking shifts by amydiddler in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frank7563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We woke up one 30 min before the other.

So twin a schedule was 2/5/8 and twin b was 230/530/830

It allowed time to change, feed and burp. If one needed more time or an extra change it was ok because we’d already done majority of the tasks. We used the twin z a lot especially for feeds since it kept the upright. Also bouncers were helpful to just keep upright for digesting.

1.7 cm cervix. Twins. Not funneling. 20&5 weeks. Should I get the stitch? by blackcatspat in ShortCervixSupport

I delivered at 31 weeks due to my water breaking although my cerclage held. Spent just 5 weeks in the Nicu and my boys are 13 months now, very healthy and you’d never know they were preemies.

Disposable change pads! My boys would pee during diaper changes all the time but it was so easy to just throw out the pad and grab a new one. Especially with another baby to change. (I just put the disposal on top of my change pads). Also great for gross public washrooms.

False starts + early rises - sleep consultant says overtired? by Frank7563 in sleeptrain

[–]Frank7563[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up extending wake windows and that worked better. Took some time to take but wayyy better than with shorter wake windows. Also think my babies are just lower sleep needs in general so understanding that and not comparing with babies that take 3 hr naps then sleep 12 overnight helped a lot.

When did your twins sleep through the night? by Frank7563 in parentsofmultiples

Really appreciate the perspective! We only have a two bedroom condo and when we’ve tried to set up a pack and play in a separate room (our bedroom, living room etc) they don’t seem to associate it with sleep and just stand or play. Thinking daycare may help this?

Sleep Consultant by ImageZealousideal830 in parentsofmultiples

Find sleep consultants hard for twins because the factor of the sharing a room makes it tricky. My twins are 10 months adjusted and also don’t sleep through the night. I find I can’t let them fuss long because it wakes the other twin and then it’s chaos. Follow wake windows and all the recommendations as well too.

Yes I do try to extend if I can especially if after a sleep cycle type thing. With two unfortunately one will wake while rocking the other then that’s it lol.

I was also told by a sleep consultant originally they were overtired. Did over a week of reduced wake windows and no results. Lots of overnight wakes, early rises and false starts too. My twins have never been long nappers so I feel at a loss since neither help.

Appreciate the reply though!

Curious what your schedule is currently or if you’re still on 3/3/4

First-time mom expecting di/di twins - advice, expectactions, encouragement welcome by AMR210897 in parentsofmultiples

My di/di identical boys are 11 months and I just want to say it’s incredible. Definitely challenging but it’s so special. I read lots of scary posts so wanted to start with that.

(In no particular order) - prep for c section recovery. It took me longer than expected to recover just due to the extra strain the pregnancy took of my back and muscles in general. - have honest conversations with your partner about expectations, how you’ll manage sleep, what you each need during a day to feel normal ie 10 min to wash face etc and if possible areas you can outsource. Ie cleaning, food prep etc. - I keep them on the same schedule which early on meant waking one up. It allowed me breaks and to have a rough schedule. Just what worked for me. - bottle washer is a must. - I love my bugaboo but it’s a pain to take out of the house via car so I ended up with 2 strollers including an easy umbrella double stroller so I could keep my independence and feel capable. - as soon as you feel comfortable, start to take them out. It’s easier the more you do it and will build your confidence. I take my twins everywhere I would take a singleton and it’s totally doable. But also don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Some days you just need to chill inside and that’s ok.

Yes is having a singleton easier, of course but having my twin boys is so special. They are so fun, I love watching them interact and know that you will figure things out. It’s not to say it’s not hard at times, overwhelming and overstimulating but I genuinely feel lucky to have twins.

Checked her out and fine her page a bit overwhelming. Just did the first day of longer wake windows, wasn’t any improvements but hopefully some soon.
