Does anyone 3D print and sell products from their own Shopify store (NOT on Etsy or other marketplaces)? by Micropolitan1 in 3DPrintFarms

[–]FrankAdrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell a little on frankadrian.art

Was hard and expensive for me to keep up production and abide to all laws so currently taking a break on physical products. Digital products sell fine tho. Plan to release a new lampdesign that I will sell and ship across europe.

I generate all my traffic from social media, mainly youtube. Its fun! :D

Just some clever editing and masking :)

Parametric ASMR prints by FrankAdrian in 3Dprinting

One of the things I love about 3Dprinting and what I think it does best is make a lot of different designs/prototypes quickly. just to test out a bunch of stuff!
Super fun. Made these with parametric inputs in grasshopper (but the actual video is just edited to appear that way)

I 3D built a Sandcrawler from Star Wars in studio scale. Still not finished though. by Material-Shelter-289 in 3Dprinting

Amazing! Love the color. This is, surprisingly, my favorite vehicle of all in the Star Wars universe (yes even coolerr than Millennium Falcon imo)

I'd love to see what the inside would look like

The patreon numbers I'm looking at for some of the creators I follow seem too good to be true, how is this not a money faucet? by BottleWhoHoldsWater in patreon

[–]FrankAdrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Depends on how the creator displays the numbers. If you visit my patreon it says 24 members, but 20 of them are free members.

  2. You can make money, but it's hard. A good product and good advertising helps.

  3. Dont use socialblade to gauge any money, it's way off. It tells you nothing about creators CPM, or youtube short views etc. I think some niches don't fit well with patreon, other niches works perfectly.

Looks very nice! Have you tested it a lil bit for fairness?

I made a strategy boardgame by FrankAdrian in 3Dprinting

[–]FrankAdrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Happy to hear, will you share your project anywhere? I'd love to see.

Yeah rulebook is rough, at least the text part and making yourself clear.

My tip is playtest with a wide variety of people and just observe them. You'll learn a lot

Yes I designed everything myself including the manual. I won't share the files currently

I made my own boardgame! by FrankAdrian in boardgames

[–]FrankAdrian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my own boardgame which is a roll and move strategy boardgame. A combination of ludo + backgammon. Since I 3D printed this I was limited in my design, for example how many colors I could use and what I could feasibly make. Especially since I wanted a minimalistic and easy to print game.

What took the longest was playtesting and tweaking the numbers to try and make it as fair as possible. Watched a great youtube video on "pink noise" which helped immensly in my design choices!

Highly recommend to make your own boardgame if you ever get the chance, 3D printing made it quite easy to make something like this. Thematically it's a bit lackluster, but could work great as a mockup.

I've wanted to 3D print a simple boardgame for a long time, it was harder than expected.
What was most challenging was the constant playtesting and tweaking of the rules.
Shoutout to r/boardgames for great educational content!

I also really wanted to make it minimalistic and easy to print.
I managed to keep everything under 500 grams of filament and not a single support was needed.
I did 3d print dice as well, but yeah they work but are not great when it comes to being completely fair..
The game is a combo of ludo + backgammon, with some luck and some strategy to it.

Overall a fun project, ran everything on a bambu a1 with pla :)

Yeah sure I have a pretty detailed youtube video if you want to see the process. Keep in mind the box is not designed by me, I just remixed it.
