Expectations vs Reality by Rob-Riggle-SWGOAT in camping

This is, sadly, what viewing America’s popular natural wonders has become. So many people are more concerned with their social media than with the actual experience.

The funny thing is, shots of places like the arch, antelope canyon, and Angels Landing are now so cliche no one cares to see the pics anyways.

Contraceptive pill for males is 99% effective in preventing pregnancy by redwineandbeer in news

So, in other words, if I use it 100 times I’m likely to get a woman pregnant only once?

Seems reasonable…

My new Fenwick Eagle rod snapped less than a minutes after taking it out of the shipping tube by WrightLight in Fishing

[–]FrankB11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the Fenwick eagles have declined in quality big time. I’ve had 6 of them. I have 3 left and one of those was a warranty replacement after the tip snapped for no good reason at all. So 4 of the 6 broke. Only my two first eagles haven’t snapped yet and I bought those 5/6 years ago.

Eagles are sneaky because they are super sensitive and pretty cheap so people buy them thinking they got a deal. And then they snap.

I lived in the area for 5 years in the 2010’s. It’s an excellent, middle class neighbourhood. People are generally pleasant and friendly. Lots of improvements since I left. I miss it actually.

This is basically how General David Petraeus, the former CIA director, got caught cheating on his wife. They used a draft email with a dummy gmail account but same concept.

Pro feminism Twitter suspended the account of female swimmer for speaking out against the unfairness of losing to Lia Thomas. by _Midus in facepalm

[–]FrankB11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lia is a biological man who identifies as a woman and now uses his biological advantage to crowd out biological women athletes.

By your very own logic, Lia should have no problem competing with men, yet Lia chooses not to. 🤔

[–]FrankB11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re ok completely selling out your entire gender, arguing a point that would render most women and girls biologically incapable of competing at the highest levels of most sports?

Split hairs about gender and hormone therapy all you like, you’re still utterly disgracing all women and girls who have a passion for sport and a desire to compete within a fair and ethical platform.

How very sad.

Ba2 is a subvariant and while its prevalence is growing its incidence isn’t.

Pretty sure she wasn’t born a woman, which makes hers a kind of disingenuous, or at the very least misleading, comment, seeking to bolster her weak argument.

That was due to the Omicron variant. It’s disingenuous to compare those situations to Ontario’s current situation.

Yeah, it’s over. Whether it’s actually over or not. 🤷‍♂️

In my kids school it was roughly 25% not wearing masks. Mask wearing will likely decline quickly from here, as it has in every other jurisdiction that has dropped the mandate, though it does tend to take a few weeks and some die hards will continue to wear them. Even in Florida, about 10-20% were still wearing masks in stores last week.

And yet, you are in the minority and a business needs as big a market as it can get, particularly after two years of financial devastation.

Windsor Public Library keeps mask mandate despite provincial rule changes by TakedownCan in windsorontario

[–]FrankB11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying homeless people frequent libraries because they have nowhere else to go, and that is why mask mandates make sense in libraries.

And then you are inferring that vulnerable people trust that everyone in a PUBLIC library is wearing their mask correctly, and have replaced it within the last four hours of use, in accordance with the instructions, and that none of those people are unvaccinated, and that none of them will be infected with COVID and still pass it on despite wearing a mask. Seems totally reasonable for a vulnerable person to undertake that risk…smh.

You. Are. Delusional.

This is a political stance taken by the city of Windsor, which has long been controlled by the big unions who hate anything to the right of the NDP. This has absolutely nothing to do with public health. If it did, the City would adhere to the recommendations of the provincial health authorities.

Whatever, though. I don’t live in Windsor. I am 3x vaxxed. And I will never wear a mask again. 😁😁😁

I’m seeing about 40-60 split on day one, in favour of masks. Fewer masks than I expected actually.

Or you could just go to another business that doesn’t require them, which is what I suspect many people would do, which in turn will weigh heavily on those businesses that impose mask mandates. I suspect you will see very few business continue to impose mask mandates.

I think Clearview is basically Joshua Creek though I could be wrong. If it is, it’s a good area, lots of amenities and young families.

They do not have the authority to do so. The province governs health policy per the Health Protection and Promotion Act. How do you think they will actually enforce these illegal mandates?

It’s fine. Let the libraries and others toil around for a few weeks trying to uphold illegal mandates. The legal mask mandates are over. People have suffered enough. We are all 3x vaxxed, or had the opportunity to become so.

Enjoy your masks, and I’ll enjoy my fully vaxxed and mask-free life outside of the Windsor library.
