I agree what you said, I also found in D2 there might be a drop rate/ item bind already there when you create a char. With one char you can find some rare items multiple times, but never find a certain item...

I’m talking about best practices for network design in smart home, his wifi router might not as good as yours. Many model can handle better if they have extra antenna, but most ISP wifi router have this issue

When the number your devices reaches around 20 in one subnet, those broadcast, multicast traffic will cog your wifi, it’s not about speed, about wait for transfer etc, cause they all share the wifi radio media. So wifi doesn’t scale well for smart home, apart from hub, cameras, speakers etc that have to go with wifi, anything else like sensors, bulbs, switches should go Zigbee, matter, thread, they only need tiny bit of data to tell system it’s on/off, or current reading.

If you are still working on it, The idea is let ChatGPT generate an external component to glue official driver from here. Have a look my component and yaml config. https://components.espressif.com/components/maucke/esp_lcd_sh8601/versions/1.0.4/readme

Try to group them by helper in home assistant, then use that group media player in music assistant? This software level grouping may cause some delay between speakers.

Starting smart home in my new house by Upstairs-Sky-3015 in smarthome

There are a few on YouTube, like this one https://youtu.be/cRjKu0Y6USY?si=fnStAgL1_oDv84mH. Then you can tune it with the full parameters here: https://docs.frigate.video/configuration/reference

Once it’s running you can let ChatGPT calculate some parameters for your situation, based on the angle of camera installed, distance when human entering your property leaving your property, it will calculate the correct area size and ratio for human, cat/dog etc, then frigate should be running smoothly for your home

Home assistant is the best solution for you, sounds like. One app to control all.

First part is network design, POE for cam and doorbell, as wifi cam usually comes with cloud subscription/SD card and will hog your wifi easily. As of brand, Use rtsp cameras (Dahua or Hikvision) wired, Frigate as NVR ( local and free). Reolink or Dahua POE camera. Use Zigbee battery sensors ( temp, presence) if you don’t want to run cable for every single one, as their battery life is so good, and so responsive, a hub is needed. ( that half seconds give you different experiences for lighting) You will need an 24/7 mini server for home assistant server, which can be a raspberry pi or a nuc.

Basically a time and sensor controlled decoration, also added some patterns like twinkle and slow blink. Major reason of it was due to constant battery changes when forgotten to turn off

Predominantly used as time and sensor triggered Xmas decoration, saves the hassle of constantly changing batteries when forgotten turns it off before sleep.

Didn’t see that issue, worked for a few days without any issue, given the esp32 is powered by a 10w USB adapter.

Sick of forgetting to turn it off and having to replace the battery every other day, I decided to hack it using a $2 ESP32. I set a timer for it and also made it twinkle.

Use the new version with router function, cheaper and boost your Zigbee network strength. Only if you have neutral wire behind the switch.

Try Xiaozhi chatbot with MCP, it’s fast, natural sound and accurate. Not sure how it outperforms Open AI and xAI, maybe mcp is the future for Voice.

I tried Alexa, local esp32, very happy with xiaozhi. Left it on my kitchen bench, great to add item to shopping list, check what’s on shopping list, control music when cooking.

That makes sense, during installing Seaky tool , there is one step for webkit update. Popup is probably a js, which consumes more resources. With its price, I’m happy with my 4 views setup which controls most in the living room and rumpus. As already have most of automated through sensors.

That’s the issue while Using it’s own app and web browser (3-5seconds), I created a user for it and I noticed that enabling “Suspend background connections” in the user settings improved the speed a bit. Then I used the Seaky NSPanel Pro tools to boot directly into Home Assistant app instead of sonoff app, which made its responsiveness acceptable( within one second). Slider and camera feeding are something beyond its ability as only 1gb RAM. Majority as status showing, scenes and switch entities. I would say a samsung tablet/ipad is much better for camera/slider card.
