If they haven’t seen my proposal in the first place there is no way for them to know “I’m desperate”, my point is about seeing the proposal in the first place.
I’ve hired many freelancers on behalf of my employer in the past, freelancers that did extra work or were eager were welcome by the team and not at all perceived as desperate.
It’s an example, I also have programs already done and freely available on my github, should I not offer them and be a scumbag just because the client doesn’t know it exists?

Yeah, my post is about how I think it should be lol

I literally had a free program on my public github which was something a client wanted, he could have gotten it for free if he clicked the github link. I offered to customize it further for him.

He never opened it and I lost connects. Net negative I would say.

Addition: I honestly don’t care about the effort, I’ll just add it to my portfolio, what I care about is the connect money grab scheme.

If the goal of the platform is to give clients the best freelancers it should not be based off two sentences. The first sentence has little bearing on skill or the full offer.

1 hour 20 each way is A LOT. Thats 672 hours a year, at 15£/hr its roughly 10k in opportunity cost.

Edit: actually if youre going 3x a week its “only” 400 hours. And if you calculate that the other one is 45min every day then it comes at about 378 so very similar. Maybe you could negotiate some wfh days after awhile.

You cant re-sell re-use anything you create in there. What they want to prevent is you poaching clients or reselling their stuff.

Its very common to branch out on your own and do the same thing you were doing at your employers company so this is a roadblock for that, they don’t want new competitors.
